About Plank & Leggit

Plank & Leggit is a pub in Nottingham at Sawley Bridge Marina, with an indoor Wacky Warehouse soft play area and an outdoor play area that give families with children somewhere to spend the day. It opens daily. The kitchen serves chicken parmigiana alongside grill dishes, and the Sunday roast dinner comes with a drink included. Ultimate Candy Mania sundaes arrive in an oversized glass for dessert. Drinks are ordered at the bar, and a curry night adds another option to the regular menu.

Customer Review Summary

Steak draws the warmest praise. One diner calls the steaks and a mixed grill cooked to perfection just before the kitchen closed, and another found a gammon steak juicy and well cooked, if a little greasy. Close behind are the Sunday roast, where roast beef and a vegetable tart both pleased, a cheap curry night and the milkshakes. Several describe friendly staff and food that arrives hot and quickly. The complaints are specific and substantial. One family with a pre-booked birthday meal found no steaks, no chicken fajitas and limited burgers, and two eleven-year-olds were refused entry to the Wacky Warehouse. Another reviewer says a server questioned their 12 year old brother about ID in a condescending tone, and likened the chicken parmigiana topping to a supermarket pasta bake sauce. Others mention cold onion rings, hard ciabatta, dry nachos and candy sundaes served in ordinary bowls. One reviewer describes food residue in the cutlery containers, and a biker, told of a car park bike theft hours earlier, ate outdoors watching the bikes.

“Went on motorbikes with my friend. We were instantly informed about a bike theft from their car park only a couple of hours prior. The service and food were great. We ate our food outdoors, watching our bikes.”

“We ate here on Sunday evening on the way back from Donington race course. The food was excellent, well cooked and great value for money, staff were friendly and helpful and the environment was lovely. We will definitely visit again when in the area.”

“We came here today for a nice meal with our little brother for his 12th birthday. Service was absolutely shocking! Went up to the bar to get some drinks no problems whatsoever ever, but then proceed to come to the table to ID us, completely understandable. But then the server started making my 12 year old brother upset asking him why he’s not got ID. He Litterally brought some water inside with him from the car…. I do believe he was trying to have a little bit of a laugh, however it was said in such a condescending tone that we nearly left there and then! And then the food comes out… To be fair it was quick. No complaints there. I had the Chicken parmigiana which sounded lovely on the menu, I know it’s only a hungry horse… but surely you wouldn’t use a literal aldi homepride pasta bake sauce ontop on a chicken parmigiana!!! Tasted absolutely dreadful!! I hate that I’m being that guy…. I’ve never in my life written a 1 star review. But this place will certainly never see us coming again!”

“Went this morning (Saturday), clean spacious pub. The temperature indoor just right. Food lovely, served quickly, fried eggs top notch. Whole family cleared their plates. Amazing staff, very friendly, attentive to the children and chatty with the adults. Toilets well managed. Overall a fantastic experience, we will definitely be going back again in the future. Well done for running such a nice pub!”

“Awful experience here yesterday! We got invited to my cousins little boys 11th birthday meal. The staff seemed rude from the start apart from I’m assuming a manager that came to us at one point. I have a 18 month old, 7 year old and 11 year old. Went to the whacky warehouse and my 11 year old not allowed in. Also the birthday boy who’s 11 not allowed in. We accepted it and went to the park as advised but total let down. They are allowed in every other soft play we’ve been too. But I get from the staffs side rules are rules. However my cousin booked this meal for 11 of us in advance and confirmed it on the day! Got there and no steaks, no chicken fajitas, limited burgers. Pretty much no food for us! Now it shouldn’t matter that my cousins boy is autistic but as people know with neurodivergent children that it actually totally matters. He was excited to go to that place only and on leaving because there was no food he was so upset and just didn’t understand it. We had to think of an alternative quickly and he was still asking all night to be at the pub! Just rubbish all round. Attitude and service just poor! Was my first and last time at this place.”
