Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, polite service and the riverside setting, with diners describing staff who looked after whole groups, checked in without rushing, and welcomed a dog and a 15 month old baby. Food draws strong praise too, with the fish pie called the highlight, along with pork schnitzel with truffle fries, sticky toffee pudding with custard, and 3 course meals that several call delicious. A kids menu with plenty of choice and a good range of zero and low alcohol drinks also get mentions. The main complaint is value. One reviewer found the pulled BBQ beef pizza more like a flatbread, with barely any cheese and no BBQ sauce, and the Belgian fries dry with little sauce or cajun seasoning, saying the quality did not match the price. Others describe a Christmas Day dinner where a bag of dog treats and a card were left on the table.

“The Otter seems to be the place to meet friends for a catch up on a Thursday night. There were a few couples and some families too. The food was great, I had pork snitzel with truffle fries and sticky toffee pudding with custard. The pub is nicely decorated, the staff were friendly and polite and the food came in a timely manner. I would definitely visit again”

“We had a meet up with our 2 friends and there 15 month old baby. The kids menu had plenty of choice and the meal was quite big. The baby was treated with as much respect as us adults The adult menu isn't too fussy but still there is something for everyone. Our server was called Bridie and was so polite and cared about our experience. The atmosphere is lovely with clear open space for dining and so spacious we have had lovely time e and will be returning thank you”
