About The Harrington Arms
The Harrington Arms is a family-owned pub in Derby, on Grove Cl, and it opens daily. The bar area is dog-friendly, and dog-friendly tables can be booked, so owners can set up a meal with their dog ahead of time. The Sunday roast comes with pork, beef or chicken, plus roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, with the vegetables on a separate platter. Sunday lunch can also be taken as two courses, with soup as a starter option. Mushroom arancini is among the starters, and a lighter bites menu lists fish and chips. The bar serves ales, along with a range of alcohol-free drinks.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most praise at this village pub, with reviewers describing pork and beef with crunchy roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, huge Yorkshire puddings and fabulous gravy. Close behind is a Derbyshire roast beef main described as melt in the mouth, alongside a mushroom arancini starter, fish and chips, a fish finger sandwich and steaks, with portions called generous and desserts called delicious. Several reviewers mention dog friendly seating, one saying staff gave a senior dog the comfiest corner, and a good range of alcohol free drinks gets a mention. One reviewer held a teenager's birthday party in the teepee and praised the team for catering to dietary requirements. Complaints are few but specific. One Sunday lunch diner found the meat portions small, with half a chicken breast and two slices of pork, and the butternut squash soup tepid. Another arrived on a Sunday evening for a harvest pale and was told the pub had closed earlier than the website stated, even though a few people were still drinking. Several reviewers close on the value of a meal for a family or group of six at a bargain price.

“I can’t rate the drink or food as I have yet to sample it. The pub is lovely and I will try again. The reason I say try again is due to the fact that I went Sunday evening especially for a harvest pale, my favourite tipple. I am new to the area so I had checked the website which stated it closed at 20:30 on a Sunday, but on arrival at 19:45 I was told that they were now closed. There were people sitting outside and one person in the bar all still drinking. I appreciate that pubs, especially in the countryside, close early, but if times vary this should be stated on their website to stop people from being inconvenienced. As stated above I will go again and as like I said the pub looks lovely, I am sure my next review will be fully positive.”

“We recently held our son’s 17th birthday party at The Harrington and honestly couldn’t have chosen a more stunning venue. Even on such a hot day, the breeze flowing through the teepee made it incredibly comfortable and created the perfect atmosphere for everyone. Sam and the whole team went above and beyond from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble and they made the entire event feel effortless. From decorating the teepee to making sure the food was out on time and topped up. The food was absolutely unreal, all of our guests commented on how delicious everything was. Also a special thanks for going above and beyond for dietary requirements. Every member of staff was polite, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the day. We’re so grateful for such a memorable celebration and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone looking for somewhere special for an event. Thank you x”

“Sunday lunch meet up with family. Chose this place as it was half way. No knowledge of the area or what to expect. Just amazing food and value. Mushroom arancini starter and Derbyshire roast beef main. Melt in the mouth. The desserts were just delicious too. Wish it was nearer home but we will be back for family events. Thank you!”
