Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and BusinessesMap (“BusinessesMap”, “we”, or “us”). They govern your access to and use of businessesmap.com and any related features (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

BusinessesMap is a global directory of local businesses. We aggregate publicly available business profile information — including names, addresses, contact details, opening hours, ratings, and reviews — from third-party sources, present it through a clean, ad-supported interface, and provide tools for business owners to claim, edit, or remove their listings.

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is greater, to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, mass-download, mirror, or systematically extract content from the Service, except as permitted by our robots.txt for general-purpose search indexing;
• Reproduce, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of the Service's content without our prior written permission;
• Reverse engineer, probe, or attempt to bypass any security, rate-limiting, or authentication measure;
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent claim, edit, removal, or report requests;
• Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, malicious, or otherwise harmful;
• Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of any third party, or to send unsolicited commercial communications.

We may suspend or terminate access for any user we reasonably believe has violated these terms, with or without notice.

Listing information is sourced from publicly available business profiles and refreshed on a recurring schedule. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty that any listing detail — including hours, prices, availability, or contact information — is current or correct. Always verify with the business directly before relying on listing data.

If you operate or are authorised to represent a business listed on the Service, you may, at any time and free of charge:

• Claim the listing and provide updated information;
• Request edits or corrections;
• Request that the listing be removed.

Use the claim listing form. Verified removal requests are honoured within 24 hours. We may require reasonable evidence of ownership or authorisation.

By submitting any content to the Service (including claim, edit, removal, contact, and report submissions), you grant BusinessesMap a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce, and process that content solely to operate, improve, and support the Service. You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit the content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

The Service, including its design, code, layout, branding, and original written editorial content, is owned by BusinessesMap and protected by intellectual property laws. Source business data remains the property of its respective owners or the third-party platforms from which it is sourced. Trademarks and brand names mentioned on the Service are the property of their respective owners; reference to them does not imply endorsement.

The Service displays advertising provided by third parties, including Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or websites linked from the Service. Your interactions with advertisers and linked websites are solely between you and those parties.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF DATA. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS WARRANTIES OR LIABILITIES THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW (FOR EXAMPLE, CONSUMER RIGHTS UNDER LAW IN THE EEA, UK, OR AUSTRALIA).

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUSINESSESMAP AND ITS PERSONNEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100).

You agree to indemnify and hold BusinessesMap harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announced on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive forum for any dispute arising from these Terms is the state and federal courts located in Delaware. Nothing in this clause overrides mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence; where such laws apply, you retain the right to bring claims in your local courts.
