Quick info
About James Martin Manchester
James Martin Manchester is a bar and casino restaurant in Manchester, set in a former industrial warehouse on Watson St under a brick arch ceiling. Its meet and greet dinners serve a multi-course meal with wines included, and James Martin appears between courses, so guests spend the evening alongside the host. Sunday lunch brings beef with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy, followed by sticky toffee pudding or bread and butter pudding. A tasting menu and a Bottomless Prosecco Afternoon Tea round out the dining options. The drinks list includes cocktails with alcohol-free choices, the James Martin Syrah, and a bar on the lower floor. Birthday celebrations are marked with a card, plus macarons or a glass of Prosecco.

Customer Review Summary
Birthday celebrations come up most, and reviewers describe them marked with a signed card, a free glass of Prosecco, or an apron waiting on the chair in a signed gift bag. Close behind is the food: French onion soup, scotch egg, steaks with crispy chips, onion rings, a pear souffle and sticky date pudding, plus a Sunday roast with Yorkshires and a mushroom starter. Others describe a five course meet and greet evening with wine included, where the chef cooked some courses and entertained between them, and a signature tasting menu so filling one table could not finish the last course. Servers are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, with one singled out in several reviews and another who helped with menu choices and dietary requirements. The only criticism is from one reviewer, who finds the interior outdated and in need of a refurb. One group finished their evening with birthday macarons and a card each.

“We had an incredible experience enjoying the signature tasting menu at James Martin Manchester. Every single dish was outstanding. The only downside was that we were absolutely full to the brim and sadly couldn’t finish the final course! What truly made our evening special was our server, Shiraz. We felt incredibly well looked after from start to finish. Thank you, Shiraz, for making our meal so memorable—we will definitely be back!”

“Was a pleasure to dine on Saturday. Excellent food and wine all round for 4 of us. Shout out to our waiter Shiraz for excellent service 👏. One question....what were those exceptional onion rings made from? I'm guessing some kind of suet batter with a touch of rosemary? They were amazing 👏 🤩!!!”

“The food is excellent would definitely recommend. Only thought i would say is the whole interior is out dated and could do with a good refurb. But again the food no complaints lovely.”

“What an absolutely amazing night we had last night. James himself cooked some of the courses we had and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was out of this world. The entertainment was great too, lovely to meet James Martin.”
