About Impossible - Manchester
Impossible is a three-floor bar in Manchester at 36 Peter St, split into four distinct areas that include an underground nightclub called The Theatre and an open-air terrace. Downstairs holds a bar and a dance floor, while upstairs has a second bar, a seating area and a small stage. The Nest is a separate event space for smaller gatherings. Music runs on ticketed, DJ-led themed days and nights, with '90s, Motown, northern soul and ska among them. Door staff work the entrance, and the bar can have a wait on busy event days. Bar staff recommend drinks from the cocktail menu. A restaurant menu runs alongside the bar.

Customer Review Summary
Bartenders draw the most praise at this three-floor venue. Reviewers credit individual bar staff for recommending drinks, with one visiting for the Le Disco cocktail menu launch, another noting cocktails made well and quickly for a group of 16 ordering at once, and another enjoying a quiet drink on the terrace in the evening sun. Close behind is a corporate Christmas dinner in The Theatre, where place cards listed each guest's starter and main and the food was called exceptional, apart from undercooked carrots. The same reviewer found the DJ too loud after the meal, with tables leaving no room to dance, and said the music stopped shortly before ten and guests were sent upstairs. A SKA party was described as well run with helpful door staff. The recurring complaint comes from the daytime music events. Reviewers at the 90s Day Disco, Northern Soul and Motown days describe long waits at the bar, people served out of order, and, for Motown, a DJ playing the same music as the free upstairs bar with nowhere to sit downstairs.

“A lovely quiet spot to have a drink in the evening sun. Leo, the barman, was lovely: welcoming me to his home city and giving tips. Thanks Leo! Didn't have food so can't comment”

“I attended a SKA Party event and this venue was ideal. The door staff were very helpful and the event was well run. There was options to go downstairs for a bar and dance floor. Upstairs for another bar, seating area, a small stage and an outside large seating area. Perfect for a summer event. I would recommend this venue.”

“I would literally give it zero stars if I could paid £22.50 each times 4 people for Motown day…. A DJ PLAYING MOTOWN!!!!! Seriously a joke …. What a let down same music up stairs which was FREE!!!!! Only difference was there was a small dance floor down stairs. no where to sit!!! Over sell of tickets clearly …..DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY”

“Came yesterday for the northern soul day , the poor bar staff were absolutely run off their feet . Supervisor man just walking around with blue roll . The bar staff were so lovely especially the upstairs staff . Half hr wait for a drink is ridiculous . Not the bar staff fault at all on a really hot day they needed more help . Thanks though for being amazing”

“Be aware if the bouncers! Very aggressive towards me and my mum. Physically tried to push me down the stairs, lots of other whitenesses. He only stopped because a few other bouncers stepped in to tell him to cool off. 100% would not return because of this.”
