Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the saliva chicken, described as tender and spicy, and eaten with plain rice. Close behind are the dry pot fish, the stir-fried pork with chilli peppers, known for its smoky wok flavour, and the preserved pork with dried radish, called rich without being greasy. Others single out the sour and spicy chicken giblets, the stir-fried yellow beef, the sizzling tofu with crispy skin and the crispy pork belly that stayed crunchy after cooling. Several call the cooking authentic Hunan or Sichuan, with one saying a Hunanese friend agreed and another saying it tasted just like food in China. Portions are repeatedly called generous, and the spice is described as strong but not overpowering. Staff are described as friendly and nice. The one reservation is minor: roast duck hanging outside made one visitor think it was a Cantonese restaurant at first. One reviewer notes a pot lit by fire kept the tofu warm at the table.

“Amazing service and dishes. The 地三鲜 tasted great, and the squid was cooked to perfection. The egg fried rice and xiao long bao was so fragrant. The beef in black bean sauce, a classic, was to die for. Everything came promptly and made for a great lunch for my family and I, 5 stars. They're quite busy during the summer as they're the prime choice for Chinese tourists, but the service definitely wasn't diluted at all.”

“Absolutely loved this place! One of the most authentic Chinese meals I’ve had in London recently. The flavours were bold, spicy and full of that proper homemade Hunan-style taste. The chilli pork was incredibly fragrant with a smoky wok flavour, and the balance of spice was just right. The saliva chicken was tender and packed with flavour — spicy, savoury and really addictive with rice. The preserved pork with dried radish was another favourite of mine, rich and smoky without feeling heavy. We also ordered the dry pot fish dish and it was excellent. The sauce was deeply flavourful and every ingredient tasted fresh and well cooked. Portions were generous and perfect for sharing. The atmosphere felt warm and lively, service was friendly, and the whole experience genuinely reminded me of eating back home. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Chinese comfort food in London!”

“Really enjoyed my visit here! The restaurant has a very authentic Hunan-style atmosphere and the food was packed with flavour. The stir-fried pork with chilli peppers was amazing — smoky, fragrant, slightly spicy and full of wok hei. The saliva chicken was super tender with a perfect balance of spicy and tangy flavours. I also loved the preserved pork with dried radish, which had a rich smoky taste without being greasy at all. The dry pot fish offal was another highlight. The seasoning was incredibly aromatic and flavourful, and every bite was addictive. We also tried one of their drinks afterwards and it paired perfectly with the meal. Great location, generous portions, and genuinely delicious food. Definitely one of the better Hunan restaurants I’ve tried in London and I’ll absolutely come back again!”

“This is a very delicious and authentic Chinese restaurant. My friend and I came here for dinner and ordered four dishes. We all really liked them. It can be said that the taste is exactly the same as what I have eaten in China! We will definitely come again!”

“We order 5 dishes, the food portion is so much more than expected. My favourite are Sichuan boiled beef, dry fried green bean and mouthwatering chicken. They are delicious, spicy but not over powering. Staff are really nice.”
