About JinCheng Alley
JinCheng Alley is a Chinese restaurant on New Oxford St in London, with a menu centred around Sichuan cuisine and running to 99 dishes. Mao Xue Wang arrives with duck blood, tripe, luncheon meat and intestines, alongside recurring orders such as spicy chicken feet, chilli rabbit, and beef ribs. Mapo tofu and dry-pot cabbage are regularly ordered too, and the Sichuan boiled beef carries a numbing-spicy flavor. Lamb soup rounds out the menu, alongside lotus leaf beef bone and pig trotter soup and fish-fragrant aubergine as other recurring dishes. The restaurant opens daily and takes walk-ins, with table service once seated. Diners can order across the full range in one sitting, from soups to the spicier boiled and dry-pot preparations, without needing to book ahead.

“One of my go-to Chinese restaurants in London! The food is always consistently good, authentic and full of flavour. Highly recommend the spicy chicken feet, chilli rabbit and beef ribs — all super flavourful and perfect with rice. The Mao Xue Wang is also very generous with plenty of duck blood, tripe, luncheon meat and intestines. We always order the mapo tofu and dry-pot cabbage too! Great portions, authentic flavours and proper comfort food. Definitely a reliable spot when you’re craving Chinese food in London! 🌶️🥢”

“Came here for a CNY dinner. We had Sea Bass with Bamboo Shoots and Chinese Pickle in Sour Soup, Mapo Tofu, Sichuan Boiled Beef, and Fried Chinese Sweet Cabbage with Salted Pork Belly. The boiled beef had that classic numbing-spicy flavor …”

“Absolutely love this place! The food is consistently delicious and full of flavour. The fish-fragrant aubergine is perfectly balanced, and the lamb soup is rich and comforting — great with spicy dishes. Every visit ends with at least two bowls of rice. Highly recommend for spice lovers!”

“Tucked behind an unexpectedly beautiful façade, this Chinese restaurant is a refreshing departure from the usual. The interiors are thoughtfully designed, blending warmth with understated elegance to create a space that feels both intimate and polished. While the menu centres around Sichuan cuisine, the spice is remarkably well balanced - assertive enough to deliver depth and character, yet refined enough to remain approachable. Each dish expresses spice differently, layering heat with fragrance, texture, and complexity rather than overwhelming the palate.”
