Wig & Mitre is a pub at the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln, set in a historic building with window seating that looks out onto the street below. “We went to the Wig and Mitre for Sunday lunch yesterday. It was the best Sunday lunch we have had in a long time. The roast potatoes were delicious and the whole meal was piping hot. We liked the fact that the meal wasn’t brought out within minutes of being ordered as we hate having a meal that has been kept warm for a long time. The service was excellent, all staff were friendly, attentive and cheerful which made for a great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning, thank you to everyone xx”

“Recommended by a friendly local we met, on our first visit to Lincoln. On the day, only one person serving! What a star he was! He kept pace with everything, and was as pleasant as can be. Good beer,great food and a fantastic atmosphere. I would heartily recommend this lovely old pub. Thanks for a great time!”

“Four of us had Easter Monday lunch. Arrived around 12noon so had a choice of seats and sat in the window looking out onto Steep Hill. Filled up quickly so glad we arrived in good time. Two of us had the Mon-Fri lunch special - choice from the lunch menu plus a soft drink for £13 or an alcoholic drink for £2 extra. I had the fish finger sandwich which had home made fish fingers and home made tartare sauce and lettuce which came with chips. This was excellent. Another in the group had the grilled chicken sandwich was was also excellent. The other two had the Pear & Cropwell Bishop Stilton Salad which they both enjoyed. Two of us had the Wig & Mitre best bitter which was very good and the others had a pot of tea and a flat white coffee. Those two share a pear & blackberry crumble with ice-cream which they polished off very quickly. It was a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Will definitely go back.”
