“If you're looking for a proper traditional pub in Lincoln, make sure you seek out the Strugglers Inn. Tucked away close to the castle walls, it's a real gem and well worth finding. It's a relatively small pub with plenty of character and a lovely beer garden at the rear, perfect for enjoying a drink on a nice day. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the selection of hand-pulled ales. There were around ten to choose from, including a cider inspired by Irn-Bru, which certainly caught my eye, even though I didn't try it. Whatever your taste in cask ales, you're likely to find something you'll enjoy. The atmosphere was exactly what a traditional pub should be – friendly, relaxed and welcoming. We ended up chatting with a couple of local gentlemen, which added to the experience and made us feel right at home. It's also a dog-friendly pub, which gave it an even warmer, more welcoming feel. There was a steady stream of people coming and going throughout our visit, creating a lively atmosphere without ever feeling overcrowded. If you enjoy characterful pubs with an excellent choice of real ales, friendly locals and a genuine traditional atmosphere, the Strugglers Inn is definitely worth seeking out. We'll certainly call in again next time we're in Lincoln.”

“Called in here to meet up with family members & have a couple of drinks whilst in Lincoln. This is my aunts local & it is a very popular place. Be prepared to squeeze past people to get to the bar. We sat outside in the yard where there was ample space & within metres of Lincoln Castle wall. Dog friendly. Great atmosphere.”

“As we were staying close by a drop in for a drink was our reason to visit. Traditional old school pub with little change in many years I suspect. Nice selection of real ales served at I would like to think the correct temperature, instead of the usual iced cold in most pubs. Plenty of awards for pub of the year to indicate how good it is.”
