About The Adam & Eve Tavern
The Adam & Eve Tavern is a bar in Lincoln on Lindum Rd, on Lindum Hill near Lincoln Cathedral, at the back side of the cathedral rather than on Steep Hill. The building dates to around 1701 and is the oldest pub in Lincoln, so a visit here comes with several centuries of history behind the bar. Real ales and cask ales are served on hand pull, along with a hand-pulled cider, and Harvest Gold is among the named ales. A range of lagers sits alongside them. The kitchen sends out pub food including fish and chips and toasties. A real fire burns inside the pub, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the pub food, describing it as freshly cooked, tasty and generous in portion, with one saying the menu looked average until the plates arrived. Close behind are the real ales, including four hand pulled ales and a hand pulled cider on one visit, and a Harvest Gold that one reviewer called delicious. The historic building, a small outside space and easy going background music also draw comment, and several find the bar staff friendly and the food quick to arrive. Service is the recurring complaint on the other side. One reviewer met a pleasant, attentive server while two others seemed uninterested, and another found the staff disengaged. Food drew criticism too: a tuna and cheese toastie came on thin dry brown bread instead of the thick-cut granary the menu described, and the salad garnish had run out by lunchtime. The same reviewer noted there is no children's menu. Another, put off by the service, finished a drink, paid and did not come back.

“Food quality was really good. Seems freshly cooked and very tasty. Quantity size is good as well, really good pub food with good choice of beers. Pub is clearly historic and is worth the stay. Price wise it's about right, especially for the food quality on offer. Would happy come back.”
