  “I have been coming to The Birdcage for over 4 years now, and it is honestly one of the best pubs in Lincoln by a long way. I am Autistic and have a few other diagnoses, which can make going out, being in busy places or new environments really difficult and overwhelming for me. But here, right from the very first day I walked in, I have always felt completely safe, understood, and welcome. There was a change of landlord and landlady back in March. The previous owners were absolutely brilliant with me — so kind, patient, and they really took the time to get to know me and how I am. They made this place feel like home straight away. The new landlord and landlady Dawn and Doug they have been exceptionally helpful, friendly and welcoming. You can already tell they are carrying on the same lovely, caring vibe that makes this place so special. And they’re absolutely amazing they’ve made this place feel like home still. They’re absolutely brilliant. The bar staff are absolutely brilliant too — every single one of them. They are always helpful, go above and beyond, and they really understand me. They know if I need things a certain way, or if I find it too loud or busy, and they always help me settle in and feel comfortable. It’s such a relief to have a place I can come to where I don’t have to explain myself or worry about how I am acting. It’s calm, consistent, and everyone looks out for each other. Even with the change over, it still feels exactly like home.”

  “Great pub with some good real ales. Timothy Taylor's Landlord - £5.10 Titanic Plum Porter - £4.20 Good live music and plenty of other events. Lovely outside area in the summer. Real ale, real fire and a dart board. Love this pub 😊”

  “We only went for a couple. Timed it just as the football finished. It was quiet n cosy. The Mancunian ale was perfect for a warm evening. Very light. Tasty. Staff are always friendly, helpful and polite. Lookin forward to Open Mic Night at the end of the month.”

  “Amazing place to go for dinner or just drinks with friends. Menu offers great tasting and handsome portions of vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes to satisfy everyones taste. The selection of ales, ciders and wines was reasonably priced and of a good standard. It was great to be able to purchase vegan friendly ale in a bar! Large beer garden with plenty of seating and shelter. Lovely atmosphere as there are bedding plants and hanging baskets in ever space possible. The service was great, the bartender explained the covid rules to us and continued the evening with a smile. They offered to adjust the speaker volume as we were sat underneath but this was not necersary the music was banging. All in all a very comforting and pleasant pub. Healthy portions packed with flavour. Great selection of alcohol and fantastic service. 10/10 will be going back again!”

  “What a hidden gem this place is have ordered take out from here 2 weeks running now and it has not disappointed! The chicken shawama is delicious and there is plenty of it but the show stopper for me was the Korean Chicken literally wow I dont think I have eaten anything so tasty in all my life! We'll be back next week without a doubt!”

  “Great atmosphere for live music from when I've been here before. Just been out in the beer garden for the first time today and it's lovely out here. Been served a beautiful pint and there's even a beautiful bed of flowers and visits from little birds. Calming. Lovely.”

  “First visit to this pub, heard good reviews about it. They had 3 flat ciders on. On the Friday night they had karaoke on and for the very first time I actually enjoyed it. Pretty much every singer was really good. I visited this pub 4 times over the long weekend, lovely welcoming staff. Nice beer garden. Highly recommended. I’ve not have chance to get the food but that’s meant to be very good I hear. I will be back for sure. Well done”
