About Olé Tapas
Olé Tapas is a tapas restaurant in Bath, found up a staircase on the first floor of 1 John St. The dining room is small and compact, with music playing through the meal. The menu includes aubergine tempura, patatas bravas and toasted bread with tomato and garlic. Bookings are taken, and early sittings are set at about 1hr 30, so guests know how long their table is theirs. The restaurant is open daily, which means the first-floor room is available any day of the week. Dogs are allowed, so guests can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Diners come for small plates full of flavour, with the aubergine tempura named as one reviewer's favourite and the toasted bread with tomato and garlic praised by another. Patatas bravas, oyster mushrooms and Spanish ratatouille also get mentioned, and a vegetarian party found plenty of choice alongside the meat and fish plates. Close behind is the staff, described repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, with servers who explain dishes and patiently answer questions about sauces. Reviewers also mention a good atmosphere, music that gets people moving at their table, and a compact space that still feels comfortable, with one party saying their dog was allowed. The caveats are practical. One reviewer notes the restaurant is reached by a staircase, and another says a booked sitting lasted an hour and a half, warning that early sittings may mean giving up the table. One anniversary couple was moved to a better table and brought a glass of fizz, but was disappointed to find it added to the bill.

“Cosy little place and small plates with explosive flavour! Note that it's staircase-access only. We were lucky enough to have the restaurant to ourselves for most of our meal, and got to enjoy a beautiful Bath afternoon to great food and great tunes. We chose Olé Tapas specifically because they seemed to have good vegetarian options, and that they did! I forget the dish names, but we got aubergine tempura (my favourite), Patatas Bravas, a cold tomato-and-olive-oil dish, oyster mushrooms, and two helpings of their amazing bread. After a great many full English breakfasts, picking solely from the veggie menu was a delicious reprieve that engaged all senses. This isn't to say they don't have plenty of meat and fish plates too: they do! Their attention to culinary detail extends even to their snacky bites, so be sure to stop by if you're ever walking the streets in Bath. Our server Poppy also did a wonderful job introducing dishes to us, and kept us feeling warm and cared for throughout our meal! Thanks for the hospitality, Poppy! We'll be back if we're ever in Bath again!”

“We celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary booking Ole on our visit to Bath. The staff were very attentive and moved us to a better table as they saw my disappointment of being in the corner… The young man who served our food was informed it was our Anniversary, and the staff delivered my Husband & I a glass of fizz which was such a nice gesture. Then they added the fizz was added to our bill… disappointing as we thought it was complimentary. Sad end to a lovely meal.”

“¡Fenomenal! We had a great time sharing some delicious traditional tapas altogether. They allowed our dog to come too. Great vibes, compact space, but very comfortable. Each dish was incredible! Can’t wait to go back soon”
