Quick info
About Corkage Bath
Corkage Bath is a restaurant, wine bar and bottle shop on Chapel Row in Bath, so a wine enjoyed with a meal can also be bought to take home. The kitchen buys meat on the carcass and fish on the bone, with vegetables from the local market. The menu is small and rotates, built around small and sharing plates, with a separate set menu alongside it. Lunch and dinner are both served, and dinner includes an early fixed-price three-course meal. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are on the menu, and the kitchen caters for allergies. The wine list is extensive and includes wines by the glass, and the wine team helps guests choose and taste. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the courgette dishes, including one with leek and ricotta, with hogget and shaved melon with whipped cream cheese also named among the standouts. Close behind is the wine, where reviewers describe staff helping them choose by the glass and pair with plates, and the panzarella, hummous, red mullet, panna cotta and sorbets also earn praise. Several mention the garden or patio as a lovely place to sit. Service is mostly called friendly and knowledgeable, though one reviewer was asked to move tables after the kitchen delayed their food and felt the service fell short for the price. Value draws mixed comments: one found the tuna dish surprisingly small for the price, and another called the food bland and lacking flavour despite excellent wine and service. Others describe a small menu with big flavours and a relaxed pace of about half an hour per course, with one pair already booking their next visit.

“Bottom line: Delicious! I would absolutely recommend Corkage to anyone visiting bath, the food and wine is brilliant and very good value. However, while I don't think any waiter individually had bad service, over all our service experience wasn't great, having had our food delayed by the kitchen we were then asked to move tables because someone else had booked ours. If our food wasn't delayed we would have left by then... The staff were very attentive in helping to chose wine and at the start of the meal however at the price point I would expect better service than what we received.”

“It has been several months since I had the opportunity to enjoy a meal at Corkage in Bath, but it was extremely enjoyable, and I still remember it well. The wines by the glass were very well selected, making it possible to enjoy top quality wines at sensible prices. The food was interesting and tasty. The staff was friendly, courtenous and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was classy without being pretentious. I would definitely go there again!”

“We happened to be walking by and started to look at the rotating menu, we were greeted by the owner and he described everything for us and recommended reserving seat. The menu is small, but the flavours are big! Very delicious food and perfectly cooked. The extensive wine list will let you pair with every plate. The patio was very nice and quiet to enjoy your meal.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed a few glasses and small plates at Corkage. There is a set menu, but would recommend the sharing plates menu for a bit more variety. The Panzarella in particular was excellent, as was the hummous. Very friendly staff who also helped a lot with the extensive wine menu. Would also recommend sitting in the garden on a sunny day!”

“Our dinner was a precious gift box filled with seasonal foods and flavors. We two arrived for the early fixed-price three course meal. We chose the courgette prepared with leek and ricotta as well as shaved melon with whipped cream cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and beautifully crafted - showcasing the tastes of these vegetables and fruit. We chose red mullet with freekah, and crumbled coda with mashed potato. We shared an optional side of broccolini. These dishes were fresh and surprising- both accompanied by a smooth sweet red pepper sauce. Dessert acidic fresh gooseberries on top of rich whipped cream and two balls of ice cream: house-made cardamom, raspberry-peach. These dishes pacing of this meal suited us well- about 1/2 hour per course with enough time to relish each. The interior of this restaurant is a clever and economical - resulting in a playful celebration of travel, wines, and foods. We prefer beers so we can’t speak to the wine selections but others appeared very engaged with the staff in making informed selections. Highly recommend this place for creative fresh foods- finely crafted at a relaxing pace.”
