About The Woolpack
The Woolpack is a gastropub at 186 High St in Banstead, a village pub with rooms for overnight stays. The kitchen works through a pie list that includes a beef and ale pie and a chicken and leek pie as a special, alongside a seafood platter and vegan options. Regular jazz sessions and quiz nights give the pub a calendar of its own, and a garden sits alongside the building. Table bookings are for dining customers only, while the bar area seats walk-ins. Dogs are welcome, which suits anyone travelling with a pet and staying in one of the rooms. A large car park serves guests arriving by road.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the loaded fries, with a reviewer who tried them confirming an earlier review's praise, and the pies close behind: a beef and ale pie with crisp pastry and plenty of meat, and a special chicken and leek pie. A seafood risotto also gets a mention, along with vegan options and a garden that reviewers describe as lovely. Many call the staff friendly and the service good, and one praises the pub feel over a bland restaurant. A few raise problems. One party waited a long time for breakfast in a near-empty pub while staff stood chatting, then found the food average and was charged for a pint of cola they considered far too much. Another found the potted salmon on a seafood platter warm in the centre, with half-melted clarified butter, though the starter was well presented. One reviewer wanted more vegetarian choices. In the first case, the manager gave the table's food and coffee for free.

“Good selection and beautiful interior. Great selection of meals and drinks. Could be more vegetarian options, but the rest of my table found their meals lovely. Service was fab.”

“Spent a night here and had a great experience. The food was exceptional - some unusual dishes & absolutely delicious. And the rooms are very comfortable & very well thought out, with nice touches like lovely herbal teas & a quiet fan if you happen to be are staying during a heatwave. Highly recommended!”

“What a lovely pub!! Really nice vegan options, prices as you would expect (not cheap but not overpriced either) good quality food, decent portions. There is an outdoor seating area and large car park with plenty of space for manoeuvering (tiny car parks give me anxiety, this car park was well proportioned!). Lovely pub feel inside, there are very few pubs left that still feel like pubs and not bland restaurants, so this atmosphere was appreciated. Staff were lovely, friendly and very attentive. Dog friendly seating inside and out! Will defo to back and I recommend a visit if you are traveling to Banstead. (Or if you fancy a little bus adventure from Croydon, 166 takes you all the way there! Perfect if you're looking to get out of Croydon for a pub garden drink this summer.)”
