Customer Review Summary

Roasts come up most, with mixed verdicts. One diner found the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding good but the chicken, cauliflower cheese and vegetables plain, another found the lamb and beef slightly overdone and the potatoes not crisp though the gravy was good, and a vegan reviewer loved the nut roast and vegan chocolate cake while wishing the gravy had more flavour. Close behind, fish and chips with light batter and banger and mash with fantastic-tasting sausages drew strong praise, and one diner recommends the scallops and lamb. Afternoon tea scones were called warm and delicious, with ample cream and jam. Service is often described as fast and polite, though one reviewer says staff seem understaffed and need chasing. The sharpest complaint concerns the Cajun chicken wrap: a regular family reports it now arrives mostly salad and room temperature despite requests for no salad, with the staff reply offering no remedy. Another diner sent back teriyaki salmon that was missing its teriyaki and was given free drinks.

“Service and food was good. Staff were polite. Food served hot and was tasty. Quirky decor, cosy bar, clean and lovely outdoor area. Removed a star as the dish my main meal was cooked and served in had a chip. A little low background music whilst having dining would be nice and would add to the atmosphere.”

“It's a lovely pub near Wallington and we went twice for lunch. Once on a weekday and once on a Sunday. Food was good, service fast and ambience great. Only thing is Yesterday the air-conditioning was not working properly. Owner should look into this and resolve the issue. We will go again with our grandsons. They enjoyed the day more than we did as the six year old had some activity to be involved in. The 3 year old slept first and then got up to blow the candle for his birthday celebration. 😁”

“Overall disappointing experience. Ordered teriyaki salmon for main but had to send it back because they forgot the teriyaki. When it came it tasted fine but nothing more. Wife had the burger which was very average. Meals are probably £3-£4 overpriced given quality of food. Service was good though and staff were very nice. They gave us free drinks to make up for the error with the food which was good of them”

“Had roast for 4 of us - Lamb and beef roast slightly over, chicken decent and soft, vege well flavoured, potato not crispy on the outside, good gravy. Love the quaint environment, perfect for brunch and lunch chit chat. Fast and polite but you'll have to chase them for things cause they seem understaffed.”
