Customer Review Summary
Cheap drinks and food are what reviewers raise most, especially the real ales on the handpumps. Close behind are the budget breakfast, the curry club nights and the Monday Club, with daily specials and cocktails also mentioned. One reviewer enjoys a pint with a full English at nine in the morning. Several call the food decent and hearty for the cost, though one says it is nothing special. Service divides opinion. Some describe friendly, quick staff and drinks arriving fast through the app. One hospitality worker calls it the worst service they have experienced and says only the security staff were polite, and another finds staff slow and disinterested. Cleanliness is similarly mixed, with one reviewer calling the pub clean and another noting dirty tables and a messy loo on busy days. Peak times get noisy and cramped. One reviewer reports suspected food poisoning after eating chicken bites, while a companion who had a buttermilk burger was fine. That same reviewer still called it a nice pub.

“Visited here sunday. Nice place, but came back home following evening back to devon and was poorly on Tuesday. I had chicken bites and my daughter ate exactly the same whilst away apart from here, she had buttermilk burger but she wasn't poorly. I woke up tuesday feeling weird and rough, then my friend called later in even who works in medical said I had food poisoning due to what I had! So the chicken in heat wave was obviously left out too long in hot kitchen as well as heat wave! I been so ill and couldn't eat for days Please take care as I eat regularly at alot of westherspoons around UK and I enjoyed food at time as tasted fine at the time but paid for it afterwards! I won't take this further as it was nice pub and my girl enjoyed her meal and she wasn't poorly! Please concentrate better on food handling and refrigeration etc!”

“Large, clean, busy pub in the heart of Sutton. There are a lot of tables here, so a good chance of grabbing one on a busy shopping day. It has the usual great selection of real ales and a well priced menu of standard food. Worth a visit.”

“Visited The Moon on the Hill (Wetherspoon) recently and had a pretty typical experience for the chain. The prices are definitely a highlight — hard to beat for a pint and a quick meal in London. The pub itself is large with plenty of seating, although it can get quite busy and noisy during peak times. Service was efficient enough using the app, and drinks arrived quickly. The food was decent for the price — nothing amazing, but exactly what you’d expect from Wetherspoon. The atmosphere is lively but not particularly cosy, so it’s better for a casual meet-up than a relaxed evening. Overall, good value for money and reliable if you just want an easy, affordable drink. Would come back, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.”
