Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for live rock and metal, with bands playing upstairs and a DJ in the main bar downstairs. Several name acts they caught, including Typan, FraCXura and Star Circus, and describe a great atmosphere for smaller bands. Close behind are the drinks, called good value and reasonably priced, with a good selection and the gummy bear cocktail singled out as a favourite. Staff are described as friendly and helpful, and one reviewer calls the landlord lovely and quick. Others like it for beers before and after gigs at The Halls. One critical review describes poor service: the bar left unattended, a mixed grill arriving medium well instead of medium rare, plates sitting for an hour, and a seating arrangement for dogs that did not match what was promised by phone. Reviewers also praise the quirky private room upstairs and the smoking area, and the gothic art and coffin tables.

“So...last night 25/10 a man pulled a knife out in the giff threatening to stab someone right Infront of me and my 18 yr old daughter, unfortunately the situation was overlooked no police called, karaoke just carried on like it never happened wasnt asked how we were, this triggered my mental health so paramedics were called to take me to the crisis team, on leaving the pub i faced a barrage of abuse being called a f*cking c*nt for not notifying Kayleigh that an ambulance was called.... Which really didn't help my ongoing health issues even the paramedics were appalled.pub not even reporting knife crime is scandalous. Also a safe guarding issue. Obviously peoples safety is not a priority as Kayleigh and mikes attitude showed.I would like to add this review as nothing to do with wendy she as always made us feel welcome never walks past without saying hi, lovely friendly lady,”

“Great place for metal heads and rockers. Came to see Cassidy Paris, great venue for smaller bands, atmosphere was great, beer was good value, two pints for less than a tenner.”
