Quick info
About The George Wallis
The George Wallis is a pub in Wolverhampton city centre at 15 Victoria St, close to the Mander Centre. The bar pours six still ciders alongside hand pump real ales, and lagers are on tap too. The kitchen puts Black Country twists on its food, and a Sunday roast is on the menu. Bottomless brunch comes with mains such as spaghetti bolognese. Screens show sports, and a pool table gives the bar a game to play between rounds. A function room hosts events, with game nights and a surprise party among the bookings it has held, so it suits groups planning a get-together.

Customer Review Summary
Bottomless brunch is the most frequent draw, with reviewers describing a varied spread that includes spaghetti bolognese and chicken curry, plus drinks that arrived very fast. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, welcoming and accommodating, with one visit ending in a complimentary slice of cake for a birthday. The function room is praised for a surprise party and for regular game nights, and the drinks and food deals are called great value. Diners also single out the beer choice, including six still ciders and traditional hand pump real ales, along with sports and a pool table. Brunch visits on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon were described as quiet. The main complaint is a Sunday roast beef dinner served cold, sent back, and still not warm after being reheated, with the cauliflower cheese stone cold. Another reviewer found no price list for drinks and had to ask the bar staff, even for the wine list. One visit closed with that free birthday cake arriving at the table.

“We were arranging a surprise party here. Staff were great & very accommodating throughout, Nothing was too much trouble!. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the function room is really nice. The location is great as well, highly recommend for your next family function!”

“Food normally good, but today went for a roast beef dinner. When it was served it was cold. Sent it back was asked if we wanted a refund or warming up . As we were hungry we decided for it being warmed up. Wasn't that warm when it was served again. Cauliflower cheese stone cold still. Would not recommend their Sunday roast at all......”

“3 generations having an impromptu family gathering. Joe, Dan and Josh were friendly, welcoming and.accommodating. Food was good and thoroughly enjoyed. Really good selection of beers and especially cider - 6 still ciders as well as usual ciders, lagers and traditional hand pump real ales. Range of different seating options available for different groups inclding outside seating in a pedestrianised area. Tables regularly cleaned and cleared during our visit. We had a nice, relaxed visit.”

“What a great pub! We were offered 20% off the total bill through an event that was happening nearby. This is a central location and perfect for a break in between your shopping as it’s close to the Mander Centre. As you walk in, there’s plenty of tables - both indoor and out. The bar staff were friendly and chatty whilst serving. The prices were great - we didn’t have any food but it really wowed us. Such a variety for great prices but also a lot of Black Country delicacy twists to the foods too. They have sports on as well as a pool table. It’s truly a great pub, and works closely with other venues such as Bongo’s Bingo for collaboration.”

“I had bottomless brunch at George Wallis. Service was excellent and food was great. I did book a sunday afternoon so it was very quiet in there, but the brunch was good! Well worth the money.”
