About The Firs - Indian Bar & Grill
The Firs - Indian Bar & Grill is a pub on Castlecroft in Wolverhampton, serving desi Indian food under exposed beams. Its booths have their own mini TVs, so a table can follow Sky Sports and football while the meal is served, and more screens are placed around the pub. The mixed grill comes in veg and non-veg versions, and the kitchen also runs sizzling plates. Curries such as lamb dhansak come with garlic naans or roti. The pub is part of a small chain.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the mixed grill, in both veg and non veg versions, and several single out the curries, naly lamb keema, lamb bhuna, lamb dhansak and a butter soya masala, alongside garlic naans and roti. Close behind are the chilli battered chips, which one reviewer calls a personal favourite anywhere, and the sizzling plates. Reviewers describe friendly service, plenty of screens and booths for watching football, and a large outdoor patio. The recurring complaint is portion size: two reviewers found the curry bowls small, one saying the mains bowls were far too small for the price. One found the draught beer a poor pour but drinkable, and another said the bar area where they ate was a little rough. Several note it was very busy, with one saying they should have booked ahead. One group ordered too much and was given takeaway boxes for the leftovers.

“Recommended to me by a colleague who lives in Wolves and is Indian so we had high hopes. It didn't disappoint, the food was stunning, obviously we ordered too much but we were given take out boxes. Will definitely go again.”

“This is a great desi indian pub (part of a small chain) that serves delicious food. Great for watching football because of the number of booths with screens and TVs everywhere. Great place for just a few drinks too”

“Absolutely love coming to Spurs in Wolverhampton with my boyfriend Shannon. The food is always amazing and full of flavour, but the sizzling plates are on another level — absolutely phenomenal every single time. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, generous portions, and consistently good food. It’s become one of our favourite places to go for a meal together and we always leave happy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food in Wolverhampton.”

“Incredible curry — easily one of the best I’ve had in ages. The roti was perfect too. My friends all really enjoyed their curries and naan breads, and we all loved the chilli battered chips. I’d even go as far as to say The Firs now does my favourite chilli battered chips anywhere. The staff were fantastic — service was sharp, and friendly. It was very busy, and we should definitely have booked ahead. We ended up eating in the bar area, which was a little rough, but aside from that, this place was pretty much spot on.”
