Quick info
About Swan Compton
Swan Compton is a pub in Wolverhampton on Compton, with a real ale bar pouring a selection of draught beers. The building has two halves: a small lounge or snug, and a traditional bar with a stone and tiled floor and wooden seats. A larger rear room with a dart board is used for darts, dominoes and pub quiz nights. An old skittle alley room sits alongside the real ale bar. Pork pies and cheese and onion cobs are available as bar snacks to go with a pint. Dogs are welcomed, and the bar keeps a water bowl and treats for them.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return to the Swan Compton above all for well kept real ale, with the Old Empire IPA singled out as perfectly kept and several praising a good rotating selection of draught beers. Close behind is the traditional layout, a snug, a stone floored bar and a larger back room with darts, dominoes and quiz nights. Food comes up as pub snacks, with cheese and onion cobs, pork pies and cheese and onion crisps named as favourites. Staff are described repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer mentions a bartender with a lovely sense of humour who quietly shut the door when kids got noisy in the old skittle alley. Dogs were welcomed with a water bowl and treats on the bar, and the outside seating gets a mention. The complaints are small: one visitor found the pub out of snacks on two visits, and another says the carpet could do with updating. One reviewer calls value for money awesome.

“Went for a drink as we do regularly. The pub is always spotlessly clean and has a really good atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There's a good seating area outside and the pub has quiz nights etc. Great boozer for a great night out.”

“Excellent again. Great service, lovely sense of humor behind the bar. Kids in the old skittle alley got a bit noisy, so Naomi subtly shut the door. Friendly locals. Pork pies excellent. Value for money awesome.”

“This is a proper old school boozer..Great beer.. staff friendly..patrons a good mix of locals, and visitors alike. The Swan just reminded me of what my local old pub was like. They know how to keep a good pint here.. when I'm down next this is where I will drink.. Cheers.”
