Quick info
About The Fieldhouse
The Fieldhouse is a pub in Wolverhampton at 12 Perton Rd, now under new ownership. Its menu is split in two, with an English menu and an Indian menu, so homemade pies share the kitchen with Indian dishes. The English side includes homemade pies, among them a lamb and mint pie, while the Indian side lists pakoras and masala chips. Beer is served on tap at the bar. Dogs are welcome, so visitors can bring their own dogs along when they come to eat or drink.

Customer Review Summary
The homemade pies draw the most praise, especially the lamb and mint pie and the chicken pie, with desserts and lamb steaks also called excellent. Southern fried chicken strips and a good selection of beer on tap come up close behind. Several reviewers single out the outdoor seating and pub garden as a relaxed spot on a sunny evening, and the staff are described as friendly. Reviewers also note the pub is dog friendly. Opinions split on the newer menu under new ownership. One diner found the popadums premade, the pakoras ok, the naan cold and the side of masala chips steep, while another called the chips cold and hard and the fish very tiny. A one-star review described a stained table that needed cleaning, food handed over in a takeaway bag and boxes instead of plates, and bland meat with fries, naan and salad that felt overpriced. Another reviewer said the patio could do with a tidy up. By contrast, one reviewer described food as piping hot and freshly cooked.

“We were so pleased to hear that the Fieldhouse was under new ownership, so we had to see for ourselves. We popped in on 27th November and enjoyed an early afternoon meal of a homemade lamb and mint pie and southern fried chicken strips. Both meals were amazing and we were very impressed with the service. We’ll definitely be visiting on a more regular basis.”

“A lovely, relaxed pub garden — perfect for a sunny evening. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area. I wouldn’t travel far just for it, but I’d happily visit again if nearby.”

“A lovely and chill pub garden on a sunny evening. Worth a visit if you are already in the area, not sure I would drive far to go again, but wouldn't say no if I found myself near it again”
