Quick info
About Hail to the Ale, Wolverhampton
Hail to the Ale is Wolverhampton's first micropub and the first micropub in the West Midlands, set on Pendeford Avenue. The bar focuses on real ales and ciders, with a short, beer-led menu of artisan pies and sausage rolls served as bar snacks. Service runs on a walk-in basis, and the small room is heated by a wood burner, with dogs welcome inside. The format stays deliberately simple, built around the drinks rather than a wider food offering, and the space serves as a local for the surrounding streets.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers center on the selection of real ales and ciders, with one calling it Wolverhampton's first micropub. Bar snacks, artisan pies and sausage rolls come close behind, and a wood burner earns a mention. Staff and regulars are described as friendly and welcoming. One reviewer calls the food plain, since the focus is beer. A non-drinker was allowed to bring their own bottle without a table charge.

“I came here last night with my 2 brothers one who is in the UK on holiday and we had a great time. I'm a non drinker I only drink non alcoholic red wine which they don't serve but the kind young barman allowed me just the once to drink my own bottle of non alcoholic red wine as he could see I was with family who are regulars and he didn't even except a table charge from me. Thank you guys for a great evening we really enjoyed ourselves, if you are ever in Wellington Telford please pop in to my restaurant spiceland where you will receive 40% discount. A great cosy pub where you won't hear bad language.”
