Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to value, especially the small plates deal, which one calls easy on the pockets and another calls average for the area, with a weekday happy hour menu also mentioned. Guinness and Stella draw approval, and several describe friendly staff, prompt table service, a warm atmosphere and hearty portions. One group liked the late closing time after a football game. The pub is described as huge with plenty of space, though it gets very packed at weekends, and one reviewer suggests going early with a large party. Food is where opinions split. One returning visitor reports a sharp drop in quality, with a burger that looked like it came from a packet, a bland taste and tasteless chips, while another was served luke warm food in a cold pub with the heating off. Staff draw mixed comments. One member of staff was rude about children, and another reviewer was refused a pre-ordered pint without ID, denied a refund or a soft drink, and told to read the T&Cs.

“Great value food most of the dishes were under 10 quid speedy service and friendly staff. No wait was required although I don’t recommend more than groups of 6 here”

“I'm 27 years of age, was threatened to be kicked out and was denied a pre-ordered pint because I did not have ID. They refused to refund or produce an alternative soft drink. On compliant I was informed to "read the T&Cs". I would highly recommend you avoid this pub as they do not support or care about the local community and the staff are empowered to bully you regardless of simple logic. We are local and did not feel welcome.”

“Top pub—late closing time was perfect after finishing our football game. Managed to grab some food and drinks without feeling rushed. Prices were affordable and everything tasted great. Solid spot to end the night.”
