  “The place was clean and tidy. We ordered food, and the employee, Joe, was very respectful, classy, and honest in his work. Thank you to him for alerting us that our fish and chips order contained alcohol. Also, the lovely employee, Thabitha, made the best latte. The food was delicious, and so was the dessert. It's worth coming back again.”

  “Super great one-week stay at this atmospheric and perfectly located pub-with-rooms. Right next to the train station but leafy and feels secluded. In particular, Hannah was very accommodating when we asked to move to a larger room. Sotty was also very helpful. The breakfast is awesome (don't miss the "Full English") and there is clearly a really capable chef in the kitchen. Sweet, large and popular garden, but no real noise reached the room in the (very) warm days of summer. Loved sitting at the bar, too. It's not always easy to find a historic pub-hotel like this with air conditioning, but it was VERY welcome.”

  “Got to love the Hand and Spear. Tucked away in the woods, its a beautiful pub with great food and air con!! Plus a big old beer garden. Staff are always pleasant and efficient. A real treat.”

  “Manager of the pub is really rude. Interrupts other servers when they’re serving patrons, and the pub’s new summer drinks are not worth the money at all. £11 for a white sangria with no fruit in it? It was literally just two/three drinks/ingredients over ice and I ended up choosing that anyway when they were out of ingredients or my original £9 drink choice, to which they didn’t do anything to resolve this at all and still charged me £2 extra for the new drink. It tasted horrible and was made by someone new, feel like it was half-assed; when I said I didn’t like it, and wanted to have it remade or given something else, nothing. Unfortunately have to come here due to work, but not my go to”

  “We had a great early evening dinner Sunday. Service was exemplary. We asked to be moved because of a noisy unruly family and the servers very quickly sorted out a new table of our choice. Food and choice very good and good value too”

  “We held a funeral reception here on one of the hottest days of the year. The room was air conditioned which was very welcomed and the food and service were excellent. We had under ordered food but the head chef and team very kindly and swiftly produced some extra food at very short notice. They couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you very much for delivering such a beautiful event for us.”

  “The location is great and the place we sat was very relaxing. Now i must say the the food took a very long time to arrive they said 40 minutes which ended up over and hour. The food was ok quality which for what we paid was disappointing as we paid top quality prices. The service was slow but polite. We had go to the bar to order food and drinks. The portions where small, the sharing platter was only good if shared with only yourself. We will be looking for an alternative.”

  “We recently stayed for one night at the Hand & Spear in Weybridge and had a very enjoyable experience. The location is excellent: easy to find and conveniently close to both Brooklands Museum and Mercedes-Benz World, but was tucked away in a wooded setting that felt surprisingly peaceful. Our room was attractive, well-equipped, and very comfortable. We enjoyed dinner in the pub downstairs, which was very convenient and nice, and breakfast the following morning was wonderful. In the end, we found that the Hand & Spear combined comfortable accommodations, a relaxing atmosphere with good food. We’d be very happy to stay here again.”

  “Great location for a local pub. Plenty of evening parking in the station car park. Surprisingly good menu. A step above your typical pub grub. Spacious with lots of different seating areas to choose from. Good service and friendly staff.”

  “We came for some lunch on the bank holiday Monday, expected it to be a bit more busy than it was but the experience did not disappoint!! We had some lovely food (bit pricey but well worth it) with some 10/10 service from.. Ryan I believe his name was. Very charismatic and lovely young man. Exceptional draught lineup. The place really starts to look like a better version of its old self. Well done to the team.”
