“Just had the worst pub meal at The Half Moon in many a year. I rdered chicken schnitzel with chips and purple sprouting broccoli .The chicken was so overcooked I couldn’t get my knife in it. The broccoli was yellowing and past it best. I tried some and had to spit it out. My husband ordered steak & Youngs pie. Over 50 percent was carrot making it too sweet to eat. Mash was okay but the cabbage was totally raw raw. No effort had been made to cook it in any way. Complained to waiter who offered another meal. We declined this offer as we didn’t want anymore terrible food. The manager took our plates away to discuss with chef. Waiter then offered a coffee or drink. Which we declined and left. If they had offered us something of the bill it might have been better but they are evidently not bothered about their customers”

“Our local pub, is always a great day out. We do feel the prices are creeping up slowly tipping the scale of value for money on the drinks. The food is good as usual and the atmosphere superb. Service could do with a bit of a lift at times, as you wait a while for someone to take your order once you’ve had your first round. Not always ideal to go to the bar when seated outside as wait times can be lengthy. Overall a fantastic pub. Glad the kids play area outside is finally gone and more specs made for tables. Pub garden gets busy when the sun is out. Warren has worked hard since his arrival and his enthusiasm and drive for improvement does not go unnoticed. We love it!!”
