About The Drummond
The Drummond is a pub in Guildford beside a cricket club, at 55-56 Woodbridge Rd. An open kitchen serves Sunday roasts, with roast chicken, pork crackling, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The rest of the menu runs to fish and chips and a charcuterie board among the smaller plates. Orders go in by scanning a QR code at the table or by going to the bar. The refurbished interior has plants throughout, and live music plays at times. The pub works on a walk-in basis, and it hosts group events.

Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most comment and divides reviewers. One praises great roasts, while two call it subpar, with one listing dry chicken, hard potatoes, flavourless gravy, over-salty crackling and a greasy Yorkshire pudding. Close behind is the refurbished interior, described as gorgeous and beautifully done, with lovely plants, comfy seats and a rear garden mixing sun and shade. Reviewers also praise a warm, gooey scotch egg, a charcuterie board, chips with curry sauce, fish and chips and well kept beer. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, including toward a four year old and during a large group event. A few note the pub gets noisy, and one found the live music unconvincing and hard to talk over. Slow service is the recurring complaint. One table said they were told mobile QR orders take longer, which they never saw displayed, and another waited so long for a Friday burger that they took it away, only to open the box and find a burned patty.

“We had a lovely experience today. Chloe was our wonderful server today, who was very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Very warm and accommodating to our 4 year old. Great roasts and good value for money. Definitely come back again.”

“We held an event there, 60 people, very accommodating and the staff are amazing. Made the night perfect for us all. We had food, and no complaints. I my self had the fish and chips and it was very yummy. Will look to do future events here.”

“Great food, very nice menu. Not keen on the so-called live music. Person (on the day) didn't play an actual tune, just phrases stuck together. Staff friendly and helpful. Good layout. Gets noisy. So not too good if you want to talk.”

“I’m sorry about the food at Drummond. I still can’t believe it remains so bad. I try my hardest not to eat here, but once or twice a year I give it a reluctant try. Today we sat down for a Friday burger and salad.. which took 45 mins to arrive. I had them put into a takeaway as we were just on a lunch break, and that too much time had elapsed. On getting home my heart sank when I opened the box to find my burned burger Patty. Seriously.. Drummond Owners.. fire the kitchen staff and start over. Get professional help in there. You’ve done an amazing job on the decor etc. now the kitchen needs that same care and attention.”
