Customer Review Summary
The complaints are about the kitchen and pace. A Sunday lunch party reported rock hard roast potatoes, undercooked cauliflower cheese and four cold roast dinners with no cutlery. Another found burgers dry, with stale buns and chips arriving after a long wait, and one wanted to choose how a burger is cooked. A Father's Day diner met a limited menu, an overcooked Dirty Burger and halloumi fries that never came, though the waitress took the burger off the bill.

“Me and my party arrived for the reopening and wow. It is stunning. The pastal colours create a warm and inviting environment and the staff were such a delight Len welcomed us and and treated us like we go all the way back! With a beautiful view and tasty food I’ll definitely be back”

“BOATERS LOOK NO FURTHER!!! Called in advance to check if I could moor my long narrow boat (2nd pub I called first said no) the lady on the phone had to check but called me straight back to confirm that they would make sure I could. They even called me back again later on to check in on what time I would be arriving. Upon arriving I was greeted by a pair of helping hands. The food was second to none and a good portion size also which was much needed after a long day of cruising. I wouldn’t think twice about coming back with or without the boat. My opinion was prices were good value for a good meal. The service from initial call, taking the order bringing the food out was warm friendly and personalised. There’s also boat hire aswell. Very happy with the Albany. Thanks for looking after this weary traveller.”

“We arrived after a walk on a normal Saturday. Everything took ages: service was slow, we ordered three burgers. Those took over 45 minutes to arrive and tasted awful. Dry and stale buns, comically stale chips, just bland meat. Nearly £20 a head for the burger which is just bleak. Ordered beers to table, randomly left on bar for 15 mins. Sort it out fellas.”

“We recently held our joint 50th birthday party at The Albany, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we first enquired, Eleni was absolutely brilliant. She couldn’t have been more helpful, making the whole planning process so easy and stress-free. Nothing was too much trouble, and on the day the entire team were just as fantastic. We hired the beautiful outdoor area with the picnic tables overlooking the Thames, and they kindly let us arrive early to decorate. It looked absolutely stunning. The staff were so accommodating with both the food and drinks throughout the evening and couldn’t have done more to make sure everything ran perfectly. The live band was phenomenal – the singer had an incredible voice and created such a brilliant atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, so fresh and beautifully prepared, and the cocktails and Pimms went down a treat! Every single one of our guests commented on what a gorgeous venue it is. The riverside setting is simply beautiful, and we even hired a boat so guests could enjoy little trips along the Thames, which made the whole evening feel really special. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, or even just somewhere lovely for lunch or dinner, The Albany is perfect. Beautiful setting, fantastic food and drinks, and genuinely some of the nicest, most helpful staff you could hope to meet. A well-deserved 10/10. Thank you to Eleni and the whole team for making our 50th birthday celebration so memorable.”
