Customer Review Summary
The garden is what reviewers raise most, describing a large, beautiful space with plenty of tables and fields to view on a sunny day. Friendly staff come close behind, and diners also praise the food: fish tacos called absolutely delicious, a Sunday roast with pulled pork in big portions alongside halloumi sticks, and a bbq with a big band. London Pride is singled out among the good beers, and one reviewer suggests booking ahead because the place gets busy. Slow service is the recurring complaint. One regular says food took far too long on most visits and that the kitchen seems too small, while another describes queuing at the bar after both bar staff walked off and never came back. A third calls the service rather leisurely, and one visitor found the manager too severe on a busy bbq day. Even so, a diner who ordered the Chilli Crab with Linguine called it very nice, and the bread they asked for to mop up the juices duly arrived.

“Really friendly staff, great food and beautiful pub garden. A real gem.”

“I am writing this review while waiting for an age in the queue. Both of the bar staff walked off 5 mins ago and haven’t come back. This is my third time at the bar and it takes about 20 mins to be served each time. Ambiance is fine but nothing special. Won’t be coming back.”

“Lovely bbq and big band, but the main manager/hostess was a bit too severe and this dampened my experience. I know it was a busy day but we were all there to have a relaxing time, and the seriousness and slight aggression in the service was not to my taste.”

“Have been here 4 times during quiet periods. Each time it's a minimum 40 minute wait for food. Three of the four times we were told the wait-time AFTER we ordered drinks. The kitchen literally seems to be tiny and have the capacity to produce 10 meals within 40 minutes. They should only serve pre-made sandwiches and crisps at best because most people nowadays can't spend over an hour getting lunch. Either close the kitchen or massively expand it. The one time we were able to get food in a timely manner (25 mins) it was lovely, so it's a shame. This pub is literally only worth going to if you are a local and regular day-drinker.”

“Lovely pub tapped way with fields to view. A very good menu together with some excellent beers made the experience fabulous on a sunny day. Well worth the visits if you are in the area but also book ahead as this place gets busy.”
