  “We reserved the dinning room for our annual cousins gathering [17]. The service was excellent. Our pre ordered Starters and Main Course were served very professionally. The Desserts are chosen once the main couse has been cleared away. Our main host Sarah had it all organised and as with the Main Course and Starters there was very little time from first person receiving their choice to the last. Our main host Sarah helped to make it a very enjoyable afternoon.”

  “Absolutely lovely meal here, food was spot on, all freshly cooked, greeted upon entering and shown to our table. Orders taken quickly and the good thing was condiments were brought to the table before the food arrived. Three choices of sizes for the Sunday roast, small, regular and large. Two in our party of 5 chose large and others chose regular which to be honest was ample. Definitely will be back again.”

  “Incredible food, amazing staff and inclusive service, I have been to pubs where you get looked at like you have 2 heads but we felt welcomed immediately, staff were helpful and happy to explain their seating and services, the best gammon I have ever had, fantastic service and we wanted to ensure the kitchen staff knew we appreciated them and left a message on a napkin. Thank you for amazing food and a great pit stop we would recommend to anyone that would listen.”

  “Dropped in at just the right time when food was starting at 5pm following a recommendation from a friend. It didnt disappoint, service was on it and friendly (Ethan was a star) and the food was superb following a 12 mile walk. The four of us were all very happy with our choice, me being the inly one who could manage a pudding. We are coming here again in july when we'll be visiting the minster. This is how a pub should do food, and with decent ales too.”

  “We needed a meal on the way home, and this was the perfect place. Bit busy, so we had to sit in the bar area, but that was fine. Good food, very good value. Pity I was driving, as drink range looked excellent”

  “First time visiting here. Food was amazing best Steak and Ale pie I have ever had…. And I have tried a few. Fish and Chips were stunning. Cheesecake was out of this world. Service was second to none. Guinness was awesome. Thoroughly recommend this pub”

  “I can certainly recommend this establishment. The steak fajitas are perfect. The ales are top-notch also. Great outdoor seating for alfresco. Gets good sun in the evening. Hats off to all the staff. Wonderful.”

  “Sunday lunch after the races. Nice cut of beef and a shoulder of lamb accompanied by a nicely cooked, albeit skimpy portion of vegetables. Pub was quiet and we were tabled in the front room which wasn't really a restaurant, more of a pub table. There is a restaurant area at the back which looked quite cosy. The beer garden looks great for the summer, and generally the service was tight and pleasant from attentive service staff. Price wasn't too bad either. 3 pots of tea. 3 Sunday dinners. 1 Cauliflower cheese (tiny portion). 1 dessert. £52 Sat next to a log burner in the middle of January. It wasn't lit. 🥶”
