Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is kitchen timing and consistency. One large group said meals arrived in separate rounds with long gaps, leaving some adults nearly finished before others were served, and the mushroom sauce was so runny it poured off the burger. Another reviewer waited a long time for a pie and mash that had sat under a heat lamp with a crust on the mashed potato, and did not pay. A steak problem and an undercooked lamb were each quickly fixed, and one diner suggested adding disabled parking.

“Decor service staff superb.. but 40mins for inedible pie and mash it had been that long under the heat lamp there was a crust on my mashed potato, needless to say I didn't pay and no issues, unfortunately we will not return.”

“We turned up at the Riverside without booking, after having a terrible experience next door. I'm extremely thankful that the BoatHouse was terrible, because the Riverside is amazing! The server that looked after us was friendly and polite and we really felt taken care of. The food was out of this world, the portion sizes were great, the ribs melted into he mouth and the Mutton was delicious. Couldn't hype this place enough, I'd have given 6 stars if I was able!”

“Had booked at a nearby resturant to be informed on arrival they stock1 type of red wine only, we feel Sunday lunch deserves a nice bottle of wine so left in search of one. Thankfully we came accross The Riverside to be met by Grace with her wealth of knowledge & a decent choice of wine. We were happy with experiance, staff, atmosphere and so we enjoyed a lovely meal with some lovely wine (slight glitch with cooking of the lamb which was quickly rectified) Well done Riverside Top notch....not so many affordable establishments are Graced with such a valuable commodity in their service....... Grace your very own Sommelier! 👌”

“Very lovely food! Was really accommodating to our dietary needs and for a big table. Great communication before hand when amendments needed to take place. I believe it was Dominic I was communicating with. The roast was incredible- it was so hard to choose what we wanted because it all sounded so nice so we will have to come back! I think it would be helpful to have some disabled parking as it was quite busy the day we came and my grandad is quite unwell but we managed to get a space in the end.”

“We loved the Riverside Pub. To be fair we were intending to go next door but it was closed for a wedding. I have avoided going to TRP as it looked quite fancy! So glad that we decided to go on. It is tastefully decorated. Friendly staff. Two outside options to choose from. We sat near the apple tree. My family had the breakfast and I chose the eggs Benedict with salmon. Delicious! An added bonus was Bongani! A fellow South African. We got to chatting about how we ended up in the UK! Lovely to hear the accent. He and I have roughly been here for three years. We will definitely be back. 🤗”
