About Dancing Betty
Dancing Betty is a pub in Seaham at 117 Dalton Park, named in honour of Dalton Park's mining heritage. The kitchen works from a 27-dish menu that includes a Mixed Grill, burgers and cooked breakfasts, and a carvery is served daily. Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return to the carvery, which reviewers call delicious and one describes as the best they have had, with the cake also singled out. Friendly, helpful staff come up in most reviews, and a few mention prompt service even when the place was busy. One longtime regular praises the breakfasts and burgers, and another calls the salad the best they have been served in any pub. The mixed grill gets a split verdict: one reviewer found it substantial and well cooked, while another found the steak small and a bit tough. The sharpest complaint is a cooked breakfast that arrived stone cold, with the egg black on the bottom and a solid yolk, plus staff who chatted among themselves, never checked on the table and did not say goodbye. Families mention claw machines and toy machines near the toilets. One group of twelve arrived without booking on a busy day, was told of a half hour wait, chose to sit outside and ordered through the app.

“I ordered the large mixed grill, which was OK, but not outstanding, the steak was small and a bit tough. Staff were helpful and pleasant.”

“We had a lovely experience at Dancing Better. We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, and everything was beautifully prepared and really tasty. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit, which made the evening even more enjoyable.”

“Ok so I'll start with the food, I ordered the cooked breakfast and it was stone cold. Everything but the hash browns were cold, the egg was black on the bottom and my yolk was solid. Now the service, nobody comes over to check if everything was ok they were too busy discussing shop amongst themselves, we left and no one said goodbye, or thanks or nothing. Now the atmosphere, I could hear every conversation in the place, all the staff chatting, a load of indecisive grannies trying to pick a table then each of them trying to get a word in before another speaks, my word .”

“Visited with 12 cancer Warriors on a shopping day out. I didn't book and found it was really busy. We were told there would be a half an hour wait but would try make it quicker. We decided to sit outside with it being a nice day. I ordered on the app. The service was amazing aswell as the staff who were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was a trouble The ladies all enjoyed their lunch.”
