About Crows Nest
Crows Nest is a seafront pub on East Shore Village in Seaham, on the Durham Heritage Coast. It opens daily, and the kitchen serves a menu that runs from pies and burgers to curries and steaks. The Cowboy burger and the sirloin steak sit alongside gammon with chips and peas, and sticky toffee pudding is on the dessert list. The bar pours real ales and wine by the glass, with cappuccino and tea for those who want a hot drink. Quiz nights bring locals through the door, and the pub also hosts charity events and theme parties. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can bring them along. Tables can be booked.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, helpful staff, with several describing a warm welcome from the bar and servers who made them feel at home. Food comes close behind, and steak recurs: one diner called a sirloin cooked medium spot on, and another had the best steak in a long time. Others praise the gammon with chips and peas, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate fudge cake and a tikka masala, all described as hot and lovely. Meals are said to arrive quickly, and the toilets are called clean. Dogs are welcomed, and one reviewer noted their dog loved his sausages. The complaints are scattered but specific. One diner's partner called the cowboy burger the worst she had eaten, with two dry patties and bacon like cardboard. Another was put off by the cheese sauce on a Philly cheese steak baguette, one noted tables were slow to be cleared, and the decor is called a little dated. One family describes staff showing their severely autistic grandson his menu choices, which made his meal even better.

“Called in on the off chance, glad we did, assisted with queries by Zena who could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was lovely good quality, piping hot and tasty. It was not overly busy so we didn't have to wait long for our meals. Compliments to the chef, I had a sirlion steak cooked medium and it was spot on perfectly how it should be. The crows nest is showing it's age a d the decor is a little dated. However, I like cleanliness, friendliness and hot tasty food. Ticked all my boxes, I would go again when in the area.”
