About Turtle Bay Salford Quays

Turtle Bay Salford Quays is a Caribbean restaurant in Salford at Unit 39, built around a jerk pit. Ingredients marinate there for 24 hours in a jerk rub, then go onto the flame grill, so the grilled dishes get a long marinade before they reach the table. The menu pairs jerk chicken with rice and peas alongside curried goat, and mac and cheese and coleslaw come as sides. A smash burger gives a non-Caribbean option for those who want one. Bottomless brunch is offered, and the drinks list covers cocktails and mocktails, including strawberry daiquiris and a rum float. The bar also stocks a selection of different rums.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the servers, with several describing waiters who talked them through the menu and steered them toward dishes and rums that turned out delicious. The food draws close praise. Curried goat with just the right amount of spice, mac and cheese, coleslaw, jerk chicken with rice and peas, the classic sharing combo and a smash burger for a teenager are all named. Strawberry daiquiris, mocktails and a two for one mocktail deal come up among the drinks, and the bottomless brunch is described as a joyful day out. Reviewers also mention food arriving hot, fresh and quick even when the restaurant was very busy, and several call it great value. The one recurring caveat is drinks. A reviewer who liked the same-two-drinks deal was still concerned that a single drink cost noticeably more. Families close the picture, with parents describing servers who handled an 18 month old and three young children smoothly and made eating out with kids easier.

“Price was extremely worth the price and great deals for food. Only thing that concerned Mr was the price for Drinks they had a deal if you got the same two drinks for £10 but it was £7 ish pound for one.”

“Mike our waiter was fantastic, I don’t often write reviews but the service we received pushed me to write it, we had a meal with 3 young children and Mike went above and beyond to make it go as smoothly as possible (eating with young kids isn’t always easy) he was fantastic with the children and we will 100 percent return to hopefully be served by Mike again! Give him a pay rise :-) thank you!! And see you soon!!”
