  “Banana Tree Media City — the lunch deal is excellent and great value, with very generous portion sizes. The chicken laksa was fantastic, full of flavour and really comforting. I also tried the vegan pad Thai and it was delicious. Good variety of starters too, especially the spring rolls which were really tasty.”

  “Came here for an unexpected late lunch on a sunny Friday afternoon and couldn’t have been more impressed. The service was fantastic, especially from Barry, who kept everything running smoothly and efficiently despite there only being one other person working front of house alongside the bar. Both were absolute credits to the company. Huge credit to the chefs too - the food arrived piping hot in great time and delivered exactly what the menu promised: authentic South East Asian flavours. The Banana Tree curry especially took us straight back to our travels around Bali. Highly recommend to anyone wanting something that stands out from the usual high street chains. Excellent value for money and we’ll definitely be back.”

Apart from the prawn crackers, chips and edamame, I managed to try almost everything on the menu. Overall, the food felt very much like British-style Thai cuisine. It’s hard to explain, but although each dish looked different, many of them seemed to share a very similar flavour profile. Even the basic Sweet & Sour Chicken wasn’t as good as what you would typically find in a standard British Chinese takeaway. That said, the restaurant itself was comfortable, with spacious seating and friendly service throughout.   “I been there couple of times and each time food was very tasty. I loved their firecracker wings. Service was prompt and very good. Great atmosphere although I preferred more lighting, was a little dark where I sat but thats down to preference”

  “Food was amazing, service was fast and great! Atmosphere was at the same level! The waitress (I cant remember her name) was very nice and kind, was understandable when we need a little more time for the menu and helped when I couldn’t decide what to pick (was honest about the meal most customers complain about). She recommended the beef rendang and I was pleasantly surprised! Beef was juice, tender and melted in my mouth. My boyfriend had the pad Thai which he was just as happy with (and his portion of chips). We got the spicy wings for starters and they were juicy and full of flavour! Would definitely come again!”

  “Lovely staff, we went out for a quick late dinner at 9 and were happy with service and food for a quick bite. My husband liked his Chicken Massaman good flavour and I enjoyed my Laksa, it could be a bit creamier but overall was cosy , heart and managed to finish it off. The fritter balls were okay nothing special same with mojito, otherwise these two dishes were nice.”
