Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the small gig room attached to the pub, described as an intimate space with a balcony above, where one diner caught The Bug Club on a sold out night and another watched three bands in a single evening. Close behind is the pub itself, a traditional, old fashioned Holts house that several call a proper boozer, with a good selection of beers and friendly, lovely bar staff. Others mention board games in the lounge, a large seating area at the front and a back terrace for when the weather allows, along with the pub's regular entry in the Good Beer Guide. The complaints are few. One reviewer thought a pint of Holts Bitter was expensive for a very basic bitter and had the price confirmed by staff, though they would still return. Another found it tricky to know where to queue because the bar has two separate entrances, yet the staff let their group keep enjoying their beers after the official closing time.
