Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the building and atmosphere, a former cinema with a steam projector model upstairs that several call lovely, bright, and relaxed, and one describes it as popular on a Saturday evening. Close behind is value, with food called hearty, standard Wetherspoon fare served efficiently, plus a good selection of ales. Diners name the bacon butty, the curries, a breakfast muffin, and a hot chocolate described as easy to drink and kind of addictive. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and quick, and one reviewer credits a bartender with helping choose a beer. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer says drinks ordered on the app took a while to arrive. Another, whose wife is vegetarian and gluten free, says staff refused to swap the veg sausages, telling them the pub does not do that here, and the breakfast then arrived cold and swimming in oil with two unwanted veg sausages. That reviewer says they will not eat there again.

“Disappointed with breakfast and negative attitude of staff. Being a regular at Wetherspoons, we frequently visit different locations and enjoy a meal. My wife is vegetarian gluten free so Spoons swop the veg sausage for another alternative and she likes her egg yolks hard without objection. Well it was like we had landed from Mars at The Moon Under the Water. "You want what?". It took a good 10mins to explain this to 2 separate people behind the bar. Then when I asked if the veg sausages could be substituted I was told "no we cannot do that. Not bothered what they do elsewhere we don't do that here".This was despite explaining at Spoons around the country this is never an issue. When my wife's breakfast did arrive with 2 unwanted veg sausages the meal was cold and swimming in oil. What a waste and could have been avoided. Ok for a drop in for a drink but will not be eating here again.”

“This is the only Weathernspoon pub that we have been in that has a dance floor with DJ from 21:00. We popped in for food, curries were great. And then nipped in for a breakfast muffin before travelling home. Staff are great and on the ball with a quick service and tidying up. Toilets are of course upstairs!!”

“Lovely building, definitely one of the finest examples of a Wetherspoon I have visited. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially the guy behind the bar who was helping me with my beer selections. Speaking of beer, a good selection of ales all reasonably priced as you would expect.”

“Always love the predictability of a Wetherspoons. This one didn't disappoint. The usual familiarity and warm ambiance with good, hearty food and the best prices in town! In a busy central location.”
