  “Absolutely brilliant! Went for a meal with friends and as it was a beautiful afternoon they found space for us on their patio, even though we'd booked an indoor table. Definitely book ahead for meals as it is a small pub with a great reputation - so it's always busy! The car park is very small, so try to minimise the number of cars you arrive in. Parking on the road outside is pretty much non-existent as it's a very narrow lane with houses (and their cars) opposite.”

  “Lovely meal, we had the sharing roast and it was really nice! A big portion for 2 people. Starters and dessert were also really good. Staff were all very friendly and attentive to our large group, our only draw back was the bench in the restaurant as it was slightly uncomfortable”

  “First time visiting the butchers block and we were not disappointed, from the tge moment we walked in and was greeted by Erin, we sat outside and soaked up some sun before coming into the restaurant where the food was outstanding. Had a superb time celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary ❤️”

  “My wife and I celebrated our 1st year wedding anniversary & all I can say was everything was terrific. The service from our server, Erin, was highly efficient and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant is located in a beautiful little area called Burnham, which looks out on to the North Downs. The food was incredible and undoubtedly a higher standard than other local Bistros. I recommend the Butchers Block Pie. All the cuisine is simply delicious and will meet every requirement.”

  “Over priced pub grub. Best way I could describe it. Been here several times now, and each time it gets worse. We had a bar reservation which was clearly a mistake too, but the service was just rude. Food tasted like it was cooked hours ago, which is most likely the case. However the edible parts ruined by the swarm of fly everywhere. A table with screaming children companied with adults blaring out wheels on the bus was another real highlight. It was pleasant to see the staff laughing rather than asking that they be mindful of others in the restaurant / back street pub that they clearly want to have people return. Really disappointed. £177 for 5 people for a very below average dinner and poor service. I ended up paying at the bar, as after waiting over 15 minutes for the bill id lost patients. Not one ill return to. Makes Toby carvery look 5 star based on this performance”

  “Excellent place. I would even say the best pub food we've had in England including London with the best pub burger I've had. And finally place that understands what children menu should be. Great same food as adults but smaller portions. Both my daughter and I had a burger and didn't even leave a crumb. Atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Can't compliment the food enough!”

  “The three of us had Sunday lunch here. The service was spot on, you didn’t feel like you were being rushed nor did you feel like you were being ignored, the waitress was friendly and easy to talk to. We had a Camembert which was the best we have ever had. Dinner was a sharing board roast and an individual roast. There is a lot of food served and it was definitely done to perfection. The only down side was we couldn’t manage a dessert, although the table next door did and they looked like something to try on our next visit. Parking is round the rear of the pub with very limited on street parking. Nice decking area (picture included) at rear to enjoy a drink and look at the view.”

  “I visited the Butchers Block in Burham for a solo dinner and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were warm, polite, professional, and genuinely friendly, was greeted by name on arrival... I felt looked after throughout the evening. For my starter, I had the Seared Scallops, served with root vegetable hash, split lobster, and dill sauce. The scallops were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, topped with a delicate Seafood Taco crisp that added great texture and flavour. It looked incredible and tasted even better. My main course was the 12‑Hour Braised Short Rib with honey‑glazed heritage carrots, pomme purée aux herbes, and a rich jus. The meat was tender and full of depth, and the Jus was lovely and rich and full of flavour... easily one of the best short rib dishes I’ve had. I finished with a Lemon & Cherry Tart alongside an espresso, which was the ideal end to the meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding, and it’s clear why this place is so highly regarded. I’ll definitely be returning, next time with friends, and I understand that weekend bookings need to be made well in advance. Based on my visit, it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.”

  “Absolutely delicious food, lovely roast followed by a deconstructed cheesecake. Roast lamb and been cooked to perfection, colour, flavour and texture wise. Carrot cake cheesecake has carrot cake flavoured crumb. Would be 5 starts IF: - Beer that I requested on tap said "unavailable" so to have saved asking. - Roast dinners matched the menu online. Porchetta was missing and replaced by chicken. Bread sauce was unique and incredible - add more in each roast please!! Ha. - table was booked smartly. Booked with a 1 year old, and out at the table right next to the open front door, not sure why we weren't put further inside. - servings were timed better. A family arrived 10-15 mins after us and were served 20 minutes before us.”

  “We visited as a family of four, for the first time and had a lovely experience. We received a very warm welcome, not just from the staff but from the local customers, who clearly frequent the pub often and are very passionate about the village and their local pub. It was such a pleasure to share their stories. The food we had was fantastic! The scotch egg starter was a delight, as were the scallops. Our steaks were beautifully cooked and the sauces we added were lovely. We also had the carrot cake cheesecake and the chocolate tart for dessert, both were excellent. The cheesecake is not as you would expect it to be. It is deconstructed and a softer texture than you would usually have but my husband said it tasted lovely and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great throughout. We visited on a Saturday and hadn’t booked but ate late afternoon and so we were able to get a table for food but if going at busy times you have to book in advance as it is very popular. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning in the future.”
