About Tiger Moth
Tiger Moth is a Greene King pub in Chatham, on Highview Dr, built around a Flaming Grill menu of flame-grilled burgers and steaks. Chicken is cooked over the open flames too, so the kitchen's range runs beyond beef. Pool is available for those who want a game, and the TV screens show live sport on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, which makes the pub a place to watch a match as well as eat. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are sharper. One group of regulars reports being told to order more drinks or leave, then told they were not welcome back, and blames a staff member's attitude. They say they have sent receipts and a recording to head office. Another visit found no beer on tap, bottled or canned on a quiet Friday, and the food was called similar to chain restaurants. One reviewer notes rotting wooden door frames at the entrance. One diner who could not finish a plate was given a takeaway box.

“Delilah was absolutely amazing! She couldn't do enough to make our dining experience a good one. I actually watched her witt all the customers and her service was second to none and always with a big smile”

“Has the chic n mix, which was lovely. The chicken wasn’t overcooked and the presentation was great. The service was excellent, they are very friendly and helpful. I only gave 4 for atmosphere as it was very warm inside. Great tunes being played.”

“It is disappointing that another review has now appeared making factual claims about our group that we strongly dispute. The review claims that six of us shared one Dr Pepper between us for around five hours. Fortunately, unlike opinions, receipts are easy to verify. We are currently collecting the order confirmations from everyone in our group, which total approximately £40 in purchases. If one Dr Pepper really costs £40 at this pub, I think Greene King has a much bigger issue to investigate. What also puzzles us is how the reviewer claims to know exactly what we were drinking. To the best of our recollection, the pub was very quiet and there was no woman sitting anywhere near our table on Sunday who could have observed our group in the way described. We therefore struggle to understand how someone could confidently identify not only what we supposedly ordered, but even that it was specifically a Dr Pepper. We also have a video recording of our full conversation with Ali on 16 June, where the discussion and the way we were spoken to can clearly be heard. This recording, together with our receipts and order confirmations, has now been submitted to Greene King Head Office so they can review what actually happened using the evidence and the pub’s own order records. We were regular customers for months, visiting weekly to watch football, purchasing drinks every visit and often food. On Sunday, members of our group also purchased meals before a separate misunderstanding involving outside food after the kitchen had closed. As soon as staff explained it wasn’t permitted, the food was immediately taken outside. We are confident that Greene King’s investigation will establish the facts. Until then, we would encourage people to make up their own minds based on evidence rather than conflicting online accounts.”

“The staff were lovely but under a lot of pressure. When we visited there was no beer (tap/bottled/ can) available. As a large group this didn't go down well with some. The food was OK, similar to chain restaurants all over the country. We ate than left. The pub was very quiet for a Friday night but this could have been the beer issue.”

“Extremely disappointing experience tonight. Our group of 6 has been coming here regularly for several months, usually at least once a week to watch football. During that time we have consistently bought drinks and food, always been respectful to staff, and have never caused any trouble. Tonight we all purchased drinks when we arrived and sat down to watch the football. The pub was relatively quiet, and we were not preventing other customers from getting tables or seats. Despite this, after around an hour we were approached and told that we needed to order more drinks or find somewhere else to go. What made the situation particularly frustrating was being told that we regularly sit in the pub without spending money and that we had apparently done so on Sunday. This is simply not true. On Sunday, three members of our group purchased food and every member of the group purchased drinks. If management checks the orders linked to our table on their booking and ordering system, they will be able to verify this for themselves. The situation became increasingly uncomfortable due to the attitude we received, particularly from Ali. We felt that several comments and digs towards our group were unnecessary and unprofessional, especially considering we were paying customers who have supported the pub regularly for months. We did order additional drinks through the app and continued to behave respectfully throughout the evening. However, despite this, we were ultimately told that while we were “not barred”, we were “not welcome back” and would not be served in future. Being told that a group of regular customers is no longer welcome after months of supporting the pub, despite causing no issues and after being incorrectly accused of not spending money, was genuinely surprising. We understand every pub has the right to choose who it serves, but the way this situation was handled was poor, unprofessional and left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, after tonight’s experience, we will be taking our custom elsewhere.”
