About The White Horse
The White Horse is a pub in Maidstone at 46 London Rd, where the entertainment is part of the offer. Band nights, an open mic and quiz nights run alongside a bar that pours real ale and cask beer on draft, with Guinness on tap as well. The kitchen works with locally sourced food and also puts together a festive menu. An annex with seating upstairs adds extra room beyond the main bar. Free parking is available on site. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Live music is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising the Sunday open mic night, where a good range of musicians turn up, and the band nights, described as good fun. Close behind is the beer: well kept cask ale, two real ales on draft, and a pint of Guinness one visitor compares to those in Ireland. Several describe a warm welcome from behind the bar and locals who are friendly to newcomers, and one values it as a traditional pub rather than a restaurant. One diner enjoyed the food, and another praised a server who kept the table laughing. The garden fills up at weekends, with one reviewer advising booking ahead for a table and another suggesting arriving early because free parking is limited. The main complaint comes from a Sunday festive lunch, where the steak was unavailable, the pork belly was sent back as undercooked, the salmon was also off the list, and the replacement turkey dinner was poor. That diner describes plates left uncollected, no apology, and a reduction on the bill.

“Popped in here on a Saturday afternoon. Very warm welcome from behind the bar. Plenty of parking. Beer selection was not amazing but well kept cask beer. Good mix of locals who are welcoming to newcomers. Came back for one of the band nights, which was good fun. Plenty of outside seating and open mic night on Sundays.”

“I don’t usually write reviews, but Char at The White Horse in Bearsted deserves her own fan club. Walking in, you might think you’re just coming for a meal… but then Char happens. She has this uncanny ability to turn an ordinary evening into a full-blown comedy show while somehow keeping everything running like clockwork. Every visit feels like she’s orchestrating a secret mission of joy. She zips around with a sparkle in her eye, cracks jokes that hit just right, and somehow makes the whole restaurant feel like your living room — except with way better food. Honestly, we’ve left her section laughing so much we’ve had to walk it off. If there’s a gold medal for “most unforgettable server ever,” Char wins it every time. Eating here is great, but being served by Char? That’s next-level. You might come for dinner, but you’ll leave convinced you’ve just experienced a magical show disguised as a pub.”

“This is a great traditional pub! NOT one pretending to be a restaurant and not a restaurant pretending to be a pub. I have to come across Maidstone and the trip is worth it to call this my new local. Two great real ales on draft and prices reasonable. I get a taxi but ample free parking. From the first visit I was made to feel welcomed. Just the best 👍🏻”
