Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly staff, with the bar team and the helpful, accommodating service praised repeatedly. The Sunday roast is the standout dish, described as delicious, served hot on hot plates with plenty of vegetables. Close behind, reviewers call the food lovely and good value, and a member discount and an early-dining discount both come up. Some mention celebrating a birthday and a 60th here, and one says a large group did not wait long for food. Regulars describe it as a home away from home in the village. The recurring caveats are small. One reviewer was disappointed by the new summer menu, which leans on fried food, and wished for a salad or ploughman's, though the sharing platter was plenty. Another felt a table for two was crammed between larger tables, which held back the atmosphere. Several say they will be back, and one notes never being disappointed after many visits.

“Love this pub, although a bit disappointed in new summer menu, not a fan of fried food, although we had a sharing platter which was ok and plenty of it. Not being a fan of fried food, a salad or ploughmans would have been nice to see on the menu, easy to make and no waste if not ordered. Please reconsider adding similar . The staff are great. !!”
