  “We are returning customers because we’ve genuinely enjoyed the food here in the past, which made this experience especially disappointing. Tonight, my family and I decided to try something new and ordered the Large Stewed Lamb Ribs (£30). Unfortunately, what we received was far from what we expected. The dish consisted almost entirely of rib trimmings with barely any meat—mostly bone and cartilage. For the price, this was extremely poor value. It’s difficult to enjoy a meal when there’s so little actual meat to eat. We felt quite let down, especially as we had higher expectations based on our previous visits. We hope the restaurant can address this, as we would like to continue coming back, but this experience was very disappointing.”

  “We went here without booking on a Saturday night and were thankfully able to get a table. It is busy but not toooo cramped. The food comes quickly but the waiter service isn’t the quickest. The food is amazing though and the portions are big so I would definitely come back”

  “Had the £14.99 Lunch time special starters were both nice the mains were large portions and the food was spot on my partner salt and pepper chicken was the best she's had in years the only downside was the place was a little cold could have done with some heating on the staff were nice and friendly.”

  “Decent! Portions are big. We were full after the duck pancake starter, then had to takeaway the kimchi prawn rice. Tasty stuff! 新年快乐 Happy Chinese New Year 🧧”

  “Extraordinary food! Enormous portions. Very reasonable prices. I tried their prawn crackers and kimchi seafood fried rice. Delicious and hearty meal. Located in the lovely Chinatown, this is an excellent choice if you are craving good Asian food.”

  “It was a very nice experience having lunch here with my younger brother. The food was delicious and full of flavor, and we were even given some prawn crackers to enjoy while waiting. I especially liked the vegetable spring rolls, and the chicken dish with a Szechuan-style sauce was also excellent. The place is cozy, clean, and well-kept. The staff were kind, attentive, and gave us a warm welcome. Overall, a great experience – definitely worth 5 stars.”

  “Overall satisfied. Not the best but definitely fit most of Asians travelers. The lamb stewed should be better if anything compared to the authenticity. The nasi lemak is tasty if more pandan leave could be add on to the rice.”

  “The food was beautiful, really fresh and tasty. 6 of us had food, £205 for all of us, numerous dishes cooked to order. Staff are very attentive, and the smell when you walk in is immense. Very clean and tidy inside. We will definitely be back.”

  “Food is wonderful from here. The best Chinese restaurant in Chinatown in Newcastle that we stumbled upon couple months ago. The waiters are very helpful & friendly, there is a huge choice to choose from from the menu which also includes pictures of the food they serve, which makes choosing what you want even easier! And the food is delicious to a very high quality. Will be going back again & again. Prices are very reasonable as well. You won't get better in Stowell Street than Amaysia! 🥢🍜👌”

  “It’s my first time visiting this city and restaurant. I truly enjoy Chinese food and the visit to this place was totally worth it. Restaurant was very clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and kind, they checked if food was ok and if I needed anything. Food came pretty fast, portion was enough for the price paid and menu booklet was very thick! Plenty of options - a bit of Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. Will definitely come here again whenever I visit Newcastle. Even the toilets were very clean and tidy and loved the Chinese songs in the background!”
