About Piccolino Didsbury
Piccolino Didsbury is an Italian restaurant at 6 Lapwing Ln in Manchester, built around an open kitchen and a cocktail bar. Its terrace has a fully retractable roof, so the outdoor space stays in use through every season. The menu moves from bread and starters to mains and desserts, with pasta and pizza among the dishes. Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff, with one server in particular praised repeatedly for her recommendations when a reviewer was stuck between three dishes. Food comes close behind. Reviewers name the waygu lasagne, the sea bass, fried calamari, orecchiette and the cioccolatini dessert, while a child's pasta and pizza and a very accommodating gluten-free pasta also get mentions. One reviewer calls the food authentic compared with what they ate in Italy, and another describes it as fresh and full of flavor. Cocktails, a drinks menu bigger than usual and the outside area on a sunny day are also praised. The complaints are minor: one diner finds it a touch overpriced, and a regular wishes a favourite menu item would come back. Several describe returning again and again, and one family notes that the children were given a colouring book and pencils to keep them busy while waiting for their food.

“I’ve been here with friends on a Saturday night. First of all, the staff is wonderful and makes you feel like home with the warmest welcoming. On top of that, the food I had was exceptional, starting from the fried calamari going to the orecchiette and the cioccolatini as a dessert. A huge hug to Ben, Michele, Antony, Elisa and Walter, I’ll be back soon!!!”
