Customer Review Summary
Wedding receptions anchor the praise. Several couples and guests describe staff who helped set up the room the night before, lit the candles on the tables, and packed away decorations the next day. Buffet food with meat and vegetarian choices drew compliments from guests, and one couple says the upstairs room made their day more special. Beyond events, diners single out the Sunday roast, with beef and chicken both enjoyed and plates served hot. Close behind are the tiramisu and the sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice cream. Others mention an excellent steak sandwich and chips, a pint of Boddingtons, and a Hugo Spritz in the garden, which reviewers call beautiful. The one clear complaint comes from a busy Father's Day visit, where food took a long time and the ribs arrived burnt and dry. That reviewer added that they had eaten better at other gastro pubs but liked the outdoor area for drinks. A family marking a First Holy Communion noted food that arrived promptly and friendly staff throughout.

“Attended my friend P & J’s wedding reception and it was such a lovely vibe! The tables were set out all pretty and then tables moved for the dance floor. Perfect place for an intimate wedding reception. Staff were friendly and parking available within the place. I hadn’t been here before but really central to get to so would highly recommend for parties/receptions or just drinks in the garden.”

“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Jade, Maddy, and the Woodstock staff. I had my wedding reception here on the 18th of July and it was perfect. We had an amazing night and Jade and Maddy were very helpful throughout this planning process. They were quick to answer emails, as well as making time to see us in person at the venue to go through the food and drink menus and the seating arrangements. They even helped me and my family out the evening before to set the tables up. I honestly couldn’t thank them enough for all the support they gave us. On the day, their staff was amazing. The food and drinks were set up promptly. They cleared up quickly too to make space for the dance floor. The next day when I came to clear up and collect my stuff, they had already done it and packaged up my decorations etc. That was massively appreciated! I would definitely recommend this place if you’re thinking of having your wedding reception or any other celebration here. The venue is not only beautiful but the staff make the whole experience. Thanks again Jade, Maddy, and the waiting and bar staff.”

“We had our wedding reception in the upstairs room and it really made our day just a bit more special. The service was excellent and the food simply delicious. Our guests were really impressed, however, not as impressed as we were as the total price didn't break the bank.”

“My visit was with my family, and we'll definitely be back again soon. The building is absolutely stunning, with several cosy eating areas, upstairs area, Inc a function room, outside an equally beautiful outdoor garden featuring an outdoor bar, plenty of seating, and a fully retractable canopy & heating that makes it comfortable whatever the weather. We all ordered the Sunday roast—I had the beef while the others chose the chicken—and every meal was thoroughly enjoyed, and recommended. We finished with the tiramisu, which was honestly the best I've ever had, and that's saying something as it's one of my favourite desserts. The staff were attentive, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. I overheard another couple mentioning that there's a new manager, and if that's the case, they're clearly doing something right because the place was incredibly busy. We also took advantage of the Spritz offer and ordered the Hugo Spritz. I highly recommend it, especially when enjoyed while sitting outside in the beautiful garden.”

“The setting is fantastic and the Sunday roast looked amazing, wish I'd have ordered that. I am assuming it was busier than usual as it was father's day so I have to hope it isn't always 1.5hr wait for food like today. Also I got the ribs snack and they were pretty burnt and dry so avoid that. Honestly been to better gastro pubs foodwise but the outdoor area is lovely so would be great for drinks.”
