About Metropolitan West Didsbury
Metropolitan West Didsbury is a pub in Manchester on Lapwing Ln, with a function room called the Barker Room for events such as a baby shower. A large beer garden sits alongside it, and indoors the pub is split into different sections, with a wooden chimney beside the seating. Breakfast is served in the morning. The food menu includes rib eye steaks and a Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, and Sundeas are on the dessert list. At the bar, a selection of beers and ales sits next to spirits and a range of wines by the glass. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza comes up most often and splits opinion. One diner found the pepperoni pizza and chips fresh and full of flavour, while two others compared their pizzas to reheated supermarket ones, and one of them said a cheeseburger with fries felt like a mini sandwich. Other dishes fare better, with the Sunday roast and its extra Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, rib eye steaks, Sundaes and the duck singled out for praise. A longtime regular, though, says the Met burger has vanished and the pies taste frozen. Service is just as divided. Some describe quick, friendly staff, one who was helpful with a nut allergy, and a baby shower hosted in the Barker Room. Others report slow, disengaged staff, a breakfast menu snatched from a table at the cutoff, and a refusal to warm water in a bowl for baby food. Reviewers also mention the garden, outdoor seating, good beers and ales, and a wooden chimney, and one noted that the steak deal had sold out.

“This is our second trip to The Metropolitan & it was even better than our first! Sarah’s service was impeccable start to finish, super friendly and was very helpful with my nut allergy. Food was definitely worth the price, great quality.”

“nice pub with lots of outdoor seating. inside also had a nice atmosphere. food was fast and good. the service was not very friendly but can you blame them in the heat wave. nice place to hang out. also, i wanted to get the steak deal but unfortunately they had sold out.”

“We visited tonight, on a busy Saturday evening and the 3 of us ordered 3 x Rib Eye Steaks and 3 x Sundeas. Service was quick and most of the servers were friendly (except from one girl behind the bar that looked like she didn't want to be there). Food was excellent quality and tasty, reasonably priced and there were plenty of places to sit (considering it was busy). Overall we'll definitely be returning. Thanks 👍”

“We were visiting my daughter today who lives in the area and the Metropolitan has been recommended to me by a friend. It didn't disappoint. Sunday roast was excellent (especially the extra Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes!) the staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful. Also had a good selection of beers and ales. We were inside the lovely dining area but outside looked great in the sunshine. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.”

“Let's start off with the positives, the pub itself is in pristine condition, nice garden area and very spacious, good looking pub. However it's all downhill from there. Staff either have no knowledge, or are just rude. Arrived at 11am for a breakfast asked at the bar about ordering food. Was told they don't serve food until 12. (Even though sign outside advertised breakfast from 10am - 11:30). Ordered 2 soft drinks (one of them was flat). About half an hour later at the table I noticed a breakfast menu and was flicking through it. When another member of staff approached and basically snatched the menu off the table and said we're stopping breakfast now you're too late in a snappy tone. Considering there was only about 10 people in the pub at this time I don't quite understand why they would want to be putting customers off. Safe to say I won't be going back, plenty of other places to go in the area with a nicer atmosphere and nicer staff! After this experience I'll be advising others to do the same”
