About The Urmston
The Urmston is a community pub in Manchester on Stretford Rd, where the bar staff and the landlady bring orders to the table. The garden has a playground, so families with children have somewhere for the kids to play. The menu includes gammon and steak, and a Christmas menu is also offered. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the warm, welcoming feel and friendly staff, describing a community pub where customers are spoken to like old friends. Food earns strong marks from most. One steak enthusiast loved his meal, the gammon appears in more than one review, and the seabass was called stunning, with a cheese and onion pie close behind. Families mention the garden playground, chicken dippers and a free ice cream with the kids' meals, while a New Year's Eve movie theme night and an 80th birthday dinner also drew praise. The food is not universally liked. One diner found the chicken shawarma bland, with half the flatbread left open and only a few pieces of chicken, and after complaining was offered an alternative meal but declined because a partner was already eating. Another called the food mediocre and said only the beer would bring them back. Among the staff moments reviewers recall, one member of staff went to the shop for birthday candles after a diner forgot them.

“My Wife and I popped into The Urmston on our usual Friday lunchtime. As usual we were greeted by very Pleasent and polite Staff. We sat at a Table and what I believed to be our usual Chatty Engaging Bar Maid Tracy, who only turns out is the Landlady, I said to my Wife, She's too Nice n Sweet to be the Landlady as they usually have the Weight of the World... She took us through the Christmas Menu n we came up with the Very Best option. We had another Lovely meal, with very Pleasant company. The Urston offers a Warm n Welcoming atmosphere and your Spoken too like Old Friends. We would recommend The Urmston Everytime. Plenty of free Parking to tge Front and rear of the Premises. 5 🌟”

“I’ve walked by this pub many times and had been meaning to go for a while, so I came for lunch with a friend. It’s a lovely pub, great atmosphere and nice decor. It wasn’t noisy or crowded which I really liked, great menu for food and the staff are friendly. It’s a great place for pub lunch, I really enjoyed the food and vibes here. Im not much of a pub goer but this is one that I will visit again for sure. For any frontline workers they also offer blue light discount.”

“An Urmston Gem We had a family meal at the Urmston tonight and we were all so impressed! Great atmosphere, warm and inviting, the staff were really friendly and the kids enjoyed the playground in the garden. We ordered the seabass was stunning, so delicate and well seasoned. My partner had the cheese and onion pie which was equally as delicious. The kids both had the chicken dippers and chips. The chicken was really high quality and both kids polished off their meals. The kids also got a free ice cream with their meal which was a bonus. We will definitely be back and feel lucky to have this gem on our doorstep.”
