About The Seven Stars

The Seven Stars is a pub at 6-8 Dantzic St in Manchester, set in the Printworks a short walk from Manchester Victoria station. Tea and Lavazza coffee come with free refills all day, and breakfast is served as well. The food menu includes gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas, with a veggie menu that features a veggie burger and chips. A small plates deal lets guests pick three dishes, among them pizza, halloumi fries and nachos. Fish and chips and katsu chicken curry are also on the menu. The drinks list covers real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. Guests order through the Wetherspoon app from their table, and the team brings food and drinks out, so there is no need to queue at the counter.

Customer Review Summary

Value for money is what reviewers raise most, led by a three small plates deal of pizza, halloumi fries and nachos that one diner called the best pub food they had eaten. Others praise fish and chips, chicken tikka masala and katsu chicken curry with huge portions, plus a veggie burger and chips, with craft beer and draught stout included alongside meals. Close behind, several describe food arriving quickly, staff who are friendly and welcoming, and a clean, lively room. Ordering through the app is repeatedly welcomed, and breakfast gets credit as fresh, pleasant and a good stop before the cinema. Against that, two reviewers report slow, disappointing orders. One waited 25 minutes with nothing arriving, saw drinks sitting on the counter while a staff member chatted, and was then served cold food and flat drinks. Another got a warm, fatty breakfast with blackened bacon, and had to ask where the coffee was before it turned up 20 minutes later.

“Came in and ordered breakfast and drink @ 9.45 on the app. 10 people in, all seated and drinking. After 15 minutes my breakfast arrived, I had to ask where my coffee was, got it after 20 minutes. Food not great, warm at best and bacon had more black dots over it than brown, also fatty”

“CW: mentions of vomit. Please scroll past this review if this makes you uncomfortable. When I first arrived at this Spoons, I loved it. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were nice, and the Pina Colada I had was gorgeous. At first, the food was great too- I had a chilli con carne with rice and nachos- until a few hours later (note- the people I was with had different foods, and have felt completely fine). Later on, I felt unwell- I had stomach ache and felt queasy- however, I thought that this was due to the anxiety of the train issues, so I pushed it aside. When I got on the first train of the evening (to Sheffield), I started to feel sick, and threw up a little bit. I felt awful. I do have travel/motion sickness, but it never usually affects me on trains. Then, when I was boarding the train from Sheffield to my home city, I was sick even more. It was horrendous. I was also sick on the taxi home, too. However, it was last night that was the worst. I got home around 10/11, and couldn't go to sleep until about two, because I was just throwing up over and over again. Even when I finally went to sleep, I kept waking up and throwing up about every 30 minutes. I couldn't even stomach WATER. You never guess what caused it. The rice. Not the chilli. When I was being sick, every single grain of rice I ate was visible, completely undigested. Had 3 hours of sleep last night. I do feel better now, though not the best. AVOID”

“Had a fantastic experience at The Seven Stars! The food was surprisingly great for pub fare, remarkably cheap, and having drinks like craft beer and draught stout included with the meals makes it an unbeatable value. Between the three of us, we had the freshly battered fish and chips, chicken tikka masala, and katsu chicken curry. The portions were huge, and everything arrived at our table amazingly fast. One of my favorite things about Wetherspoon is being able to order right from the app whenever you're ready, with no rush and no waiter hovering over your shoulder asking if you've decided yet. Even for a group of three, finding a table was super easy, and the overall pub atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Top-notch value for money, we’ll definitely be back!”
