About Pixel Bar Manchester
Pixel Bar Manchester is a gaming bar in the Northern Quarter of Manchester at 10 Thomas St, with rentable high-spec PCs in the PC Gaming Arena downstairs and console booths on the floor above. Players can choose from PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles as well as retro arcade machines. Card games are free to play, while some other games cost extra, and gaming slots are booked by the hour. The cocktail menu follows a video game theme, and the kitchen serves comfort food such as loaded fries and pizzas, including a vegan garlic pizza bread. Quiz nights run as regular events, and the bar takes private hire for parties.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly staff come up in nearly every review, and one group of twelve on a stag do says they were put on three tables side by side. Reviewers pair that with a game-themed cocktail menu, which several call tasty, though one found a few too sweet and another thought the gaming references gimmicky. Console booths upstairs, PC rental on the floor below and Guitar Hero all get named, along with a wide game range, food that one calls the right kind of greasy for a night out, and vegan garlic pizza bread. The recurring complaint is cost: drinks are described as expensive or a little pricey, and some games are not free, unlike the card games. One reviewer found the game selection lacklustre before the revamp, and another noticed table charging points that were not connected to power. One reviewer advises booking ahead, and another suggests staying at least two hours. One visitor's return trip ended when a staff member unplugged Guitar Hero, saying he was saving electricity for the England game.

“If you're just looking for a nice bar with decent drinks, this probably isn't it. I came here with a few friends just as a bit of a social meet, ordered some drinks, sat down and drank them. I'll be honest, I find the menu quite gimmicky because it's just a normal cocktail menu except everything had to have some sort of gaming reference in. I also don't get why I'd want a slightly damp and sticky Pokémon card strapped to my drink. That said, won't fault the service - that was great. Very friendly staff.”

“Really decent gaming bar Expensive drinks though like... Even for Manchester city centre 😕 Thankfully wasn't mega busy so we a group of four managed to enjoy some gaming and play cards games (which was free) Bit odd how the tables which were downstairs had "charging points in them" yet weren't even connected up to a mains power source 🤷🏻♂️ Other games wasn't free which wasn't as fun like you can't pay a block set price and then play for free such as you would do at the arcade club. Food was lovely though the entire place was awesomely decorated and fantastic music very atmospheric plus staff where so friendly. Definitely worth going back just once I have more cash on me.”

“Drinks were tasty and it was a fun vibe! Staff were friendly and were kind enough to point out what offers they had on. Gaming booth was clean and was a fun experience. Would definitely return!”

“Sadly had an awful Experience Sunday night July 5th… After a brilliant night in there on the Friday playing guitar hero we decided to go back on Sunday night and as soon as we picked up the guitar, An ego driven member of staff decided to just outright unplug the guitar hero and abruptly walked off. After I asked why he did it, he simply said he was trying to save electricity for the england game despite it being on the whole night but it was a problem when we arrived… All this happened once we had a bought a drink.. Big let down as we’d had two great nights in there before. Won’t be returning.”

“Awesome place for a video games event. We had a stag do here for 12 people. Very reasonable rate (even more so even if just 1 student in your group) and drinks / food tasty and fast service. Had a huge amount of games, consoles, and was easy to move between games and consoles. I wish we would have been able to play private co-op or LAN in larger groups, but I appreciate that might be difficult to set up. The staff were really accommodating and put us up in 3 tables next to each other.”
