About The Salisbury
Live music is the focus at The Salisbury, a pub at 2 Wakefield St in Manchester, where loud rock and heavy rock play and a metal jukebox adds to the soundtrack. The kitchen makes its pizzas homemade, with goats cheese, Meat Feast and hot honey among the options. On the drinks side, the pub pours real ales and cask ales alongside ciders. Customers with a gig ticket for Manchester venues get a discount on drinks and food. The pub is down the steps from Oxford Road Station.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the cask and real ales, singling out Trooper and flat cap as excellent, with a decent range of ciders alongside. Homemade pizza sits close behind, with the goats cheese, Meat Feast, hot honey and dough sticks named as favourites. The mood is loud and rock driven, with a metal jukebox, live music and a crowd one reviewer pictures in tattoos, black dyed hair and buckled boots, though that same reviewer loved it without any of them. Several are long-term regulars, some visiting since the 80s and one returning after almost 50 years. The main complaint is how busy it gets, with a hard search for a table on weekend evenings and a packed, noisy room even at 4.30 on a Tuesday. One reviewer notes cell signal is very poor inside, and another would give five stars if the music were louder. A good outdoor area gets a mention too, and several close on the discount on food and drinks for anyone holding a gig ticket for a Manchester venue that evening.

“Great pub which I have been visiting since the 80s! Nice pizzas too”

“Great pub. There is 10% off drinks and 20% off food with gig ticket, so it is frequented by cool music loving folk. The pizza on offer is excellent and good value with or without discount, I especially recommend the hot honey and the dough sticks. Only downside is it can get very busy so hard to find a table, especially on a weekend evening”

“Went on a busy Friday night with a large group. The beer on tap is top notch and various pizza was available to order. Which made the night even better. For whatever reason, cell signal is very poor inside this pub. But I find that this is actually a blessing in disguise, as it forces you to socialise. Which is what the pub is all about!”

“My favourite pub in North England. Been coming here for years, everytime I visit Manchester i come here. Lovely staff, great choice of Ales. Great outdoor area. Metal jukebox. The pizzas are amazing (I personally recommend the goats cheese pizza or the Meat Feast. Amazing). And even better, if you have a gig ticket for certain venues in Manchester that evening, you get 20% off drinks and food. Amazing place!!”

“Great rock bar. Itd get 5* if the music was a bit louder (but then you'd get people whinge it was too loud I suppose). Decent choice of beers I've not had the pizzas there yet, but lads on next table were saying they were great”
