About The Peveril of the Peak
The Peveril of the Peak is a pub on Great Bridgewater St in Manchester, with a green-tiled exterior and old pictures to look at around the tile work. Inside, the building is divided into multiple separate rooms. The bar pours local ales on tap alongside Guinness, and a pool table, darts and a jukebox provide the entertainment. An Irish landlady has run the pub for decades. Oxford Road station is a short walk away.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most often to the pub's old-fashioned character, from the tiled exterior to the separate rooms inside that give it a labyrinthine feel. Several praise the stunning tiling and old pictures, and describe a proper, unfussy, traditional pub where people from all walks of life strike up a chat. Close behind are decent local ales and a Guinness described as creamy and smooth, with a good pool table also mentioned. Staff are called friendly and the service very good by several, and one notes the pub has been run by an Irish landlady for decades. The complaints are fewer but specific. One visitor on a quiet bank holiday found the interior untidy and unloved, with indifferent service and a need for some TLC. A tourist who found the beer excellent and the atmosphere exceptional says they were charged double the price for a pint and could not request a refund because the pub has no website or social media account.

“I must have got it on a bad day. August Bank Holiday. The pub was not busy. It was untidy and unloved. The male toilets stank. Service was indifferent. Externally the "Pev" is an iconic Manchester building but inside it is in need of some TLC.”

“Truly great spot. Stop to check out the old pictures, great tile work. Solid windows. Wonder for sure as there are multiple rooms. I happened to be there around 430 so many ppl off work were randomly drinking on the street or sidewalk.”
